I just saw that ‘deer’ was replaced by ‘elk’ in
[p=3846pb48]
[p=3070bpb119]
I don’t get why. It’s clearly a Red Deer (cervus elaphus), not a Wapiti (cervus
canadensis; wrong continent) and certainly not a Moose/Elk (alces alces; wrong
antlers, wrong snout).
Could we have the rationale for that change?

Because, as it is now, 4623 (undertermined version) is in the Alternate section.
So it should either be deleted or replaced with 4623a.

Not sure you’ll find it’s proven enough but here it is:
I’ve had this set since I was a child. It’s been played with, built, and unbuilt for years.
But:
1. I’ve 50x bb0076, without any other possible source. I put the 2 more as Extra because 48x is enough (almost too many) for the build.
2. I don’t have any Red 3660old and all my Red 3660 are accounted for if I include this set.

Does anybody know or have a hunch about what parts will be made in the new colours?
Neon Yellow has already been used for many types (tiles, plates, bricks, slopes…)
but Medium Brown has only been used so far for “skin” (heads and mini doll torsos).
Do you think MBn will (soonishly) be used for bricks & plates?
And what about the expected Warm Tan?

When searching for items from an order in one’s WLs, if the item in the WL has
N/A colour, and if the corresponding item in the order has a colour, then the
WL doesn’t appear in the results.
Example: WL has Plate 1x1 in colour N/A.
If you search in a store, you’ll be shown all the lots for a Plate 1x1, in any
colour.
If you use EasyBuy or Auto-select, a colour will be picked.
Then, if you buy a Plate 1x1 in a colour that is not N/A (which happens 99.99%
of the time), when you try to Apply the Order to your WLs, the Plate 1x1 in N/A
is found/proposed, but when you then search your order in your WLs, the Plate
1x1 in N/A in your WL isn’t found/shown.
First, I seem to remember it worked before. Anyone else?
Then, it’s counter-intuitive relatively to how the “reverse” searches, searching
a WL in stores or using EasyBuy or Auto-select, work, and it’s not how the “other”
search, Apply Order, works.
So, bug? Feature? Who cares?

There are Animal, Body Part that are described with “Dino” and others that are
described with “Dinosaur.”
Is there a reason for that?
At least it doesn’t seem to me it’d be shorten the descriptions (there are lots
of parts in each group, with long and short descriptions).

| I guess this is more a question to “corporate” admins (aka Russell) than the
member admins but I feel that getting every one (non-admin included)’s opinion
will be healthful.
So, it appears the LEGO Braille bricks are (finally) soon to be released ( https://www.newelementary.com/2020/08/free-lego-braille-bricks-released-by.html
).
They’ll only be made available for free to blind children through the LEGO Foundation.
They won’t be buyable.
Will there be a policy to forbid their sale on BL? (to prevent encouraging collecting
/ second market, IOW, stealing from children¹)
And if so, will the bricks still be in the catalogue or not?
(Will it be possible to enforce a ban if they are?)

Considering the worldwide situation, the financial measures already started in
many countries (including the USA and the EU) and the financial measured not
yet taken, and the obvious consequences of all these (like inflation, devaluation,
and total financial and fiducial chaos), I’d like to strongly suggest BrickLink
add two new, but actually quite ancient, (mostly) universal, and staple currencies:
TP (Toilet Paper) and PST (Pasta).

From a set that was actually built. (Not totally made up as the original submission seems to be  )
Only one negative change I didn’t include: I didn’t get an extra 28974.
2436c is also confirmed as the only variant I got.
For 2417 and 13183 for the canopies: they come in 5+5 unnumbered bags.
Each bag has 11x BGreen (resp. BLO) + 7x Dark Green (resp. Dark Orange) 2417 and 10x BGreen (resp. BLO) 13183.
The instructions list all the 2417 but only 45x 13183.
That makes 5x 13183 as Extra in each colour (one per bag). (+1 for BGreen as one is needed for the carrot in the crate.)
Note though that the build of the canopy only needs 41x 13183 and 53x BGreen/BLO 2417. But as I understand the “let’s match LEGO’s inventory” policy, the remaining ones are not Extra.

| I’m wondering what’s the rationale for having changed the name (and dimensions)
of
from “1 L” to “2/3 L”.
I can’t see where it’s 0.67L.
Especially if I compare it to
and their variants, or with
and other liftarms/beams, or all the connectors with “# L” in their descriptions.
In the same way, its new dimensions are 1 x 1 x 0.67. As it’s a cylinder, it
means the 0.67 is supposed to apply to its height. But its height is exactly
1 stud, which is 5/6th = 0.83 brick, not 2/3rd = 0.67, and, anyway, “L” means
stud, not brick, so 1 = 1.
Therefore, I strongly believe its name should have stayed “Technic, Pin Connector
Round 1 L” and its dimensions should be 1 x 1 x 0.83.
(Actually, its diameter is a shy less than 1 stud, so its dimensions should be
0.9something x 0.9something x 0.83 but all the liftarms have the same width and
are said to be 1 stud wide.)
Not filing a proper catalogue change request because I really would want to know
the reasoning here, not play ping-pong.

| Please, make the “Wanted Items” tab in the Buy page more visible.
The default is on the “Wanted Lists” tab (first pic), which simply lists WLs
and show their fulfillment percentage.
But few know about the second tab, “Wanted Items” (second pic), which allows
to:
— select items individually,
— make them mandatory or not,
— see how many of each a store has,
— know which items haven’t been found / fulfilled in the current list of selected
stores.
My suggestion would be either to make the simple fact there’re tabs more visible
(adding icons or obvious buttons?) or to simply get rid of the simple view (just
add the fulfillement percentage near the WL’s name in the more complete view).
(Already two questions today for which “Wanted Items” was the answer. And several
more in the past weeks.)

| It would be nice if there were some sort of explanation given when a suggestion
changes status.
For instance, explain how what the suggestion asks can be done when the status
goes from “open” to “implemented” or “already exists.”

However, the situation didn’t change: When opening a “cart,” we’re not taken
directly to the cart. It depends on the store’s settings.

| Hi all,
New sellers are supposed to offer only “PayPal with Purchase Protection,”
or to be first vetted by BrickLink administration. ( http://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2440
)
I’d suggest that the “not vetted” status of new sellers be made clearly visible,
so that buyers (especially unexperienced ones) would know to only use PayPal
with them (even if the seller has a “my Paypal is borken” excuse).
This idea first came as a “badge” showing vetted/non-vetted status but I don’t
think a tiny logo/link beside their username would do.
Maybe a more prominent information box (splash?) in their store would be more
useful.
That information would be shown until the store has “enough credit history” to
be able to use other payment methods (as the “vetted” sellers).
