16 years already? Ouch! The only thing still moving fast as you age, seems to
be time.

Anyway, in those years I’ve developed what could be termed: category likes. Certain
categories within the catalog I tend to buy from when bored, simply because I
enjoy or appreciate the items. I would call it collecting, but it’s not really
that. I have collections, none Lego related.

No, I spend money on these Lego, rationalizing the expenditure with “I’ll sell
it someday in our normal course of doing business here." I guess the perceived
difference for me, is that simple fact; the intention to sell at some point

Well this morning, after several cups of jo, I started pondering those categories
I’ve come to enjoy, and asked myself why? That is, why do I appreciate them,
say over others?

Are there items of particular categories within the BL catalog, you tend to
enjoy more than others? If so, what are they and why the affinity?

I’d enjoy reading your thoughts on this, and have mischievously omitted a personally
salient bit for now: my categories. I will post them, but I would kinda like
to read some of your thoughts, first

-Thanks

I always loved the trees. I remember when LEGO Shop at Home had

Set No: 10113 Name: Cypress Trees
*
10113-1 (Inv) Cypress Trees
5 Parts, 2001
Sets: Bulk Bricks
on sale for something like $5.99 a bag and I bought a bunch. I also stocked
up on

Part No: 3470 Name: Plant, Tree Fruit
*
3470 Plant, Tree Fruit
Parts: Plant, Tree {Green}
when they had them (at Pick a Brick IIRC). My kids' LEGO
table had these wonderful tree-lined streets, and I also had a ton more that
I thought I would gradually sell, but I never got the chance. Oh well.

Enjoy your LEGO while you have it.

So I was going through my remaining childhood legos I'm going to give my
son in a few years. It's a mix of Both Lego and Mega blocks. I'm curious
if theirs a Mega Blocks equivalent to Bricklink? Specifically I'm looking
into getting replacement parts for my Dragons from Megablocks Dragon line from
the early 2000's. Plus theirs a few mini figures from that line I want to
re own for the nostalgia.

You could browse this forum:

https://bloksforum.freeforums.net/

They have a marketplace board and you might be able to find info on where to
find what you are looking for there.

  Hello contest fans,

There have been a lot of good guesses, but no winner yet.

The first clue was that the four digit number started with a 1.

Here's your second clue:
The sum of the numbers is 14.

Please put your guess over on the original post:

  Dear BrickLink members,

We are very pleased to announce that we are adding member Maggiec to the Community
Expert Program. She is being appointed as a BrickLink Inventories Administrator
and will be serving alongside current Inventories Admins Paulvdb and Turez.

For most of you, Maggie needs no introduction. She is a long-time member of the
site, and has served as a Catalog Administrator for 14 years. She has worked
with several well-known catalog administrators including Firefly and Therobo,
and also Dan Jezek himself.

https://www.bricklink.com/memberAdmins.asp

Most people will associate Maggie with the "catalog" side of the Catalog, but
she has also been active as a contributor on the "inventories" side over the
years as well. In fact, she logged the very first inventory change requests back
in June 2004:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvChangeItem.asp?itemType=S&itemNo=4535-1&viewDate=Y&viewStatus=1

Maggie has been a stabilizing force during some very critical times for the BrickLink
site. And we are very pleased she is joining us now for this next journey, and
we feel she will be an excellent addition to our Catalog team.

Please join me in welcoming her!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I hope to be able to help Paul and Jonas
out in the wonderful work they're doing. Also, this will be a great excuse
for me to begin to rebuild my LEGO collection.

Happy 21st Anniversary to BrickLink (a day late).
Big thanks to everybody who has helped in anyway to keep this site going.

And to the non US readers, I say "legal" because 21 is the legal age for drinking
in the US

As always, raise a glass to Dan

Yes, and cheers to you, Julie, one of the beta testers who helped Dan verify
that the site was good to go!

Is there a reference like this one to id the parts?

If you're asking if there is something like BrickLink for Megablox, not as
far as I know. I don't think so.

Actually the Bloks Forum may be helpful:

When you type brickheadz in the search box, only 7 sets popup. You can then
click on the hyperlink for brickheadz to see all of the sets listed on BL, but
seems like they should all popup with the keyword search.

The following link is what you see when you put in the keyword "brickheadz"
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/search.page?q=brickheadz#T=S

You are correct that this isn't consistent. However, BrickHeadz should
not be in the set names, as the catalog doesn't normally include the theme
name in front of the official set name. Thanks for pointing out the inconsistency.

I tell you, for as often as I see questions about what this part it in the forums,
BL should put its picture and identifier on the front page for all to see...

There are a few parts that come up with some regularity:

Niek.

Duly bookmarked.

Please share a little information about the source you're using to determine
which parts were included.

Hi Robert!

I just had a look at my set (bought new) and can verify the requested changes.
(Okay, you can't tell from my sad pic, but those parts are there in those
variations.)
