Incomplete sets listed are becoming more and more of an annoyance, for me at
least.

There are now numerous set entries where "new incomplete sets" take up the entire
landing page - or more. A lot of these consist of so few parts I feel they should
be in a different category (76125 is a good example dum-e and extinguisher are
+/- 20 parts in a set of 524 parts only 4% of the set)

OR

Is there a way to filter them out completely? The only option I can find is "exclude
from my price guide"

Also are they included in "6 month average"? if so that is a major concern

Surely New/Incomplete is intended for missing instructions/stickers/box not 96%
of the set!

MEK is nasty stuff. Don't breath the fumes. Hard to find as well.

Acetone works, but high % not off the shelf nail polish remover. Apply with a
syringe (one that won't melt with acetone) it will flow around the joint.

Short answer: you can’t.

Seriously? BrickLink must be killing B2B sales. Definitely killed my intended
purchase, at least here.

Would you please consider adding customer IP address country in order detail.

I've had a good number of orders going to freight forwarders usually in Delaware,
Florida and Oregon

I'd like to know what country the order is actually going to, showing the
customers geographic location based on where they ordered from would be helpful

Thanks

I had to refund an order in full, due to missing sticker sheet.
Customer preferred full refund over partial refund.

The "check box" to file disappeared so it seems I'll never be able to remove
the refunded order from current orders.

Thanks

Please list “Dark Red” and “New Dark Red” separate.

LEGO note them as different. They are very different and mixed up in one build
don’t look good.

@Admin Russell

This has probably been around before, my apologies!

Within international copyright law, i believe it states that copyright is automatically
vested in the creator. Unless rights are assigned (and/or reassigned) by contract.

Images supplied to BrickLink should be the property of the creator, however if
memory serves, BrickLink claimed copyright when BrickOwl emerged back in 2013.
Was copyright truly, legally transferred?

If so does LEGO group now own (or claim to own) said copyright?

OR do the individual creators of images still own Copyright?

Just curious, mostly interested in the images of minifigures being used and the
ability to use on eBay, individual stores own websites etc.

Thanks.

The first is folks sending messages directly to my PayPal and BrickLink notifications
email address. Which I don’t check on a regular basis.

Wouldn’t it be better all round if the user email address were hidden? therefore
emails would have to go thru the message system.

Leads to the second. BrickLink notifications are often delayed by two or three
days, then they all come thru together. Which is why I don’t check that mail
box often. Fairly frequently I receive the order placed notification AFTER I
have shipped the order!

I check messages on site, every morning when I first log on.

Also would benefit BrickLink as it would be far more difficult to trade off site,
if anyone were so inclined.

Please give this some consideration, it works well on the other place.

Thanks, Graham

When a buyer contacts me, using the contact form on BL, I get an email from BL
with the message. However, replying to that email just results in a bounced email.
I am forced to go into BL message center and copy/paste my text. Even worse when
I need to reply with an attachment (like a photo of a brick): not an option.
This all ends up in two // streams of communication: some messages are sent using
BL, others over direct email.

I'm forced to use a communication medium (BL) that is not adequate. Until
it's adequate, I would suggest to remove the "Messaging" feature all together.
Until BL can offer a mature messaging feature that makes direct email obsolete,
I would suggest to remove the Message feature (and point the users to direct
email contact). Now it's just a very confusing and annoying mix of communication
channels.

Personally I am opposite, I prefer and use on site message system, I don’t check
the email box that messages go to regularly as it’s full of notifications that
I don’t need to read.
Besides using the message system you can see if your sent message has been read.
Also in event of dispute it will be easier to present your case.

Why not update imported BrickStock prices using the +% feature?

It would be useless to business users if it included tax, with all the different
tax rates globally it wouldn’t work for anyone.

The "Part Out" tool feels very outdated, and is tedious to use. One accidental
click on a link, and you loose every data you have put in for each lot.

I know there are third party software used to upload parts to your inventory,
but think a much more powerful way to part out set should be offered by BrickLink.
Maybe a software you download to your computer, but it could also just be a massive
redesign of the existing tool online.

What I miss the most is easier ways to manage lots that already exist in my inventory.
I don't want to open a new page just to check the remarks for a certain lot,
because if I forget to open that link in a new tab I will loose all progress
made with the other lots. This information should be visible on the same page,
or I should be able to open it in a pop-up window.

When parting out huge sets with thousands of pieces, it would also be nice to
be able to save the progress and continue later. Maybe there should be one upload
button for each lot, so I don't have to go through the entire list first
and then submit all changes at once.

There are of course lots of different features that could be implemented to make
the Part Out tool even more powerful, like more advanced ways to set up automatic
prices, like 10% below average etc.

Brickstock. Best $20 I spent. Super Easy. Do I wish it did more, of course,
but it does enough to satisfy me.

Yep, Brickstock is US oriented so it works for you, not for us Prices exclude
VAT, so it renders it useless to me. I'd rather go through the Bricklink
part out process, have it crash, throw away my progress with a misclick, and
some other frustrations than to end up with prices that are off. It sounds like
everyone has slightly different wishes about what they like to see exactly in
the update, but making the BL part out process have all the benefits of Brickstock
would probably be a great place to start. That way European sellers can benefit
from all the benefits of Brickstock as well.

OK another suggestion for y'all to consider: -

By simply adding a button alongside "store minimum"

the other button would be "lot limit" to "n" - where n is selected by the seller.

2 purposes,

1)allows a store to implement a number of lots limititation
2) stops a seller from tacking on loads of extra $$$ for # of lots

Simply, buyer would not be able to "complete purchase" IF their order did not
meet both criteria.

ie order needs to be ABOVE minimum purchase AND less than lot maximum

BUT then PLEASE crack down on stores adding lot charges - ie make it against
BrickLink policy,

Thank You

I just did a little investigating on how much sellers AND Bricklink are loosing
from one buyer - ME!!

(due to all the crazy T's & C's and hidden charges)

These figures are approx: -

In the past 6 months I have spent close to £900 (± $1500) on parts, sets is a
whole lot more.

I buy very few sets on BL - because I am not buying discontinued sets, only snagging
bargains for parts "elsewhere".

So parts of that £900 approx £100 was spent here, buying from other sellers,
the other £800 + went to TLG direct.

Which means that's £800 in lost sales to B/L and about £32 in "commission" B/L
would have received.

One seller lost a £70 order (and we "fell out") because I baulked at being ripped
off

I used to buy all my parts here, but little by little I got tired of all the
BS charges, even if TLG are more at least I know exactly what I will pay!

Just a small fish granted, maybe (rogue) sellers don't care as there are plenty
of fish in the sea?

When it comes to selling, parts should be priced correctly to include all the
costs of selling, those "rogues" with all their extra's are skewing the sales
average by I would say at least 5%, likely more - which means that honest sellers
are loosing.

I don't see any way the costs per order should exceed an average of 50¢

I do and could go on - apologies - graham

I am totally with you Peter, terms in many stores are ambiguous (especialy when
the store owner is not from an English speaking country)

I have raised this more times than should be nescessary!

What is needed is a standard, but it ain't ever going to happen - there are way
to many big sellers with artificially low item prices that have not only CRAZY
lot limits like you have found, but + up to 7% paypal "fee" + 4% Bricklink fee
+ customs form fees - it goes on and on!
That seller is practicing nothing short of extortion.

In fact I got so fed up with all the extra's, that unless the parts are obsolete
and/or not available from my very short list of favorite sellers, I go direct
to source.

I have introduced a really simple fee schedule (parts + post at a few price bands
- some orders I make, some I loose) no lot limits and a discount for Bank Transfer
(no paypal fees - savings passed on to buyer)

Transparent and It has worked /is working well.

Maybe 1 out of 20 orders are low value/large # of lots - certainly NOT enough
to justify charging extra!

and Many repeat buyers, who realize that I am actually cheaper in the long run
- even tho my prices are perhaps a little higher than some.

Suggestions go no where, which is why I presented a suggestion to monitor the
progress of suggestions thru the system!

regards Graham

OK this to start

http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/cons_int/safe_shop/dist_sell/index_en.htm

by the fact that circumstances aren't excluded, as far as I am aware, means they
are included.

- notice some things (such as auctions) are excluded - the action of selling
IS a commercial activity regardless of status - altho mine would be a hopeless
one as far as profit is concerned

Just FYI.

EU regs state that it is the sellers responsibility to get the order to you -
if it doesn't arrive the loss is theirs not yours.

Over here "proof of posting" covers the seller in the event of loss, if you are
being nice and are satisfied that the seller actually sent it to you - then you
should just mark it received or completed even tho it hasn't.

I dont see any purpose to a "lost package" status - you would likely be the only
one to use it!

In my most humble opinion - graham

Can this be included in the next release of Bricklink please?

Didn't we just have this conversation?

Brian

Yes but no, this is a suggestion.

Here's something more: - in this thread and many many others, there is a lot
of mention of criminal's, fraudster's and scammer's

You know if I just joined BL and went straight to the forum my conclusion drawn
from these "conversations" would be "stay away - they are all crooks"

Ive been active as a buyer and seller for 3 years ±, approx 1200 trades about
40% as buyer and 60% as seller
how many problems - real problems? - only one where I lost money.

2 TWO!!

What does that say? Less than 0.1% bad "apples" 99.9% good - no GREAT ones.

Having your town or post code showing doesn't mean you will imediately be stalked,
scammed or have someone pull an insurance trick on you!!

REALLY it doesn't.

In fact I would say Lego seems to attract a rather pleasant type of person, HONESTY
being one of the most obvious attributes!

SO where are all these ner-do-wells that seem so prevalent on Bricklink (according
to some)

Have I just been lucky? I don't think so, they don't exist!

Even eBay - the haven of the devil - When it comes to buying and selling Lego,
the vast majority are "nice" and honest too...

Think of the benefits instead of what "might" (very VERY unlikely) happen.
