a ca. 0,2-0,3 mm or less (for sure this is a less then a milimeter) difference.
Old window has opening moved up ca. a fraction of a millimeter

P.S. finally removed the window but as you can see I damage both parts
So if combined the only solution keep them together and do not separate

| We have this style of legs/robes under ‘Minifigure, Legs, Modified, Decorated’

[P=36036pb23]
But not this style?
I understand it’s probably due to wanting to keep all the decorated sloped bricks
in one place but when the slopes are specifically designed for use with minifigures
this should take precedence as to where they are located because this is where
people will expect to find them i.e under minifigure entries. Likewise those
searching for decorated slopes for a build I’m sure will have very little use
for these kinds of decorated slope designs making them a search hindrance for
the category if anything?
|
What about these, they can be very well used in a build:
What I would suggest is just adding the word Skirt to all the 3678b* that are
for minifigs. So that they will appear in searches alongside 36036*
|
Yes and I think someone else once said they could use these robes for some curtains
when I mentioned the same thing before...
* | | 3678bpb027 Slope 65 2 x 2 x 2 with Bottom Tube with Minifigure Dress / Skirt / Robe, White Panel with Black and Gold Trim Pattern Parts: Slope, Decorated |
but we’re really scratching around the barrel for ideas here on the basis of
a one in a million chance that someone might actually stumble across these parts
and decide to use them for their build either way there is nothing to stop people
having a glance under the minifig robes to see what they can find but overall
they don’t cater very well for builders and likewise slopes with space symbols,
computer panels and numbers don’t cater for the needs of those searching for
minifigure parts hence I feel it would be beneficial to separate them
Likewise we have Minifigure heads which have unrelated heads mixed in with them
from goldfish bowls to death star plans:-
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/search.page?q=minifigure%20head%20without%20face#T=P
These should be given their own category ‘Decorated heads’ also we separated
Plain Legs and Torsos from Decorated Legs and Torsos which I think was a good
move and so I think we should also consider separating plain heads from decorated
heads and separating both these again from minifigure heads
As the catalog expands I think it benefits to cater better for the two main types
of shopper ‘builders’ and ‘minifig enthusiasts’ whereas piling everything into
the same catalog entries just because they are the same design of part doesn’t
actually allow for efficient shopping for either?
|
We just urgently need tag system finally.

Those stickers are showed applied on this step of instruction

Two of those are showed being applied on sides of gas station roof.
Third one was intended to be applied on other side of the roof which isn't

(where you see other side of roof, different angle of set)
Here is the catalog page just magnify image.

| I'm sorry, but that's laughable in practice on this platform.
Images from the Lego website are used all the time to add new catalog items (especially
items that aren't officially released yet - see catalog for pending items).
I don not believe for a second that the contributor asked permission to Lego
to use their images.
It should not matter where someone is getting the images from, it is an IPR violation
in any case.
So I agree with you in theory, but in reality if you should oblige any catalog
addition to show pictures taken by the contributor himself you'd have to
wait weeks if not months before someone parts out a set and feel like doing the
effort of taking pictures of all the new items and adding them to the catalog.
If I take a look at the main catalog contributors I don't see a lot of big
sellers among them (as they probably don't have the time for this).
I mean to say that I understand the practice of using a random image of a Lego
item as they are usually readily available in bulk on the Internet, most of them
without clear mention of the copyright holder.
Side discussion: in how far can someone be a copyright holder of a picture of
an item on which he has no copyright, like a Lego item? You might laugh at this,
but such has cases have already been tried at court.
Anyhoo, such poorly rendered and basically ugly pictures should never be a part
of our catalog. I dare say that by today's standards our catmins wouldn't
allow such an image to be used in the first place.
Erikk
|
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=87
It is clearly stated in our rules
"Image Sources and Crediting Contributors"
"If an image you upload is an original scan or photo, then you will receive catalog
credit for adding it. If the image is later identified as originating or deriving
from somewhere else or is another person's image, then credit for the image
may be replaced. Images from official LEGO websites are acceptable for use and
will be credited to you. You may lose image credit if your image is replaced
by one from another member."
"Image preferences"
"BrickLink accepts any accurate image of decent quality when no image exists,
but certain preferences are exercised when choosing to replace an image or move
it to a different position. Larger images are preferable to smaller images of
similar quality and existing images are typically only replaced when the replacement
shows a significant improvement in quality or size. For specific items:
Parts - Renders are preferred.
Parts, Default Catalog Image - Professional-grade photos are preferred.
Parts, Patterned - Photos are preferred.
Parts, Variants - Photos are preferred, except for the current version of a variant
group.
Parts, Unusual Color Types - Photos are preferred for all non-standard colors
such as transparent, chrome, etc. and rare (non-inventoried) colors.
Figures - Official LEGO images are preferred.
Literature - Scans are preferred for instruction booklets, catalogs, and other
printed literature.
Sets and Original Boxes - Official LEGO images are preferred.
Sticker Sheets - Scans are preferred.
Sticker Sheets, Mirrored and Reflective - Photos are preferred."
So for plain parts offcial LEGO renders will be prefferd instead of photographs.
If we have photographs then we don't delete them but they frequently go to
additional image slot. So for main image render will be preffered.

not all parts/colours belong to a set or are catalogued on the Lego site indefinitely

it may be that it only exists in Flat Silver or as Lego call it Silver Metalic.
This is another important reason why using Legos offical colour names should

Not to contribute to title-bloat, but since the word "Police" features prominently
on this part, it needs to be included in the description, since that is
how most people would search for it. 😕

Why do we need the locations (as in front / back) of the prints in the description.
"Black Panels with Gold Zipper, Classic Space and Police logos" covers the important
search terms. Are people really searching for back as a keyword for something
like this? If so, all other torso assemblies where back printing is mentioned
should be updated.

But there are torsos where back print is the only distinguishing feature like

That's what I thought, but on the catalog page for [p=3626b]
it says "this part has a variant with a single interior bar across the center"

Would it be too much effort to change "Vented Stud" to "Stud with 2 Holes" and
"Blocked Open Stud" to "Stud with 3 Holes" or something like that? To someone
unfamiliar with the catalog, the terms "Vented Stud" and "Blocked Open Stud"

Also large picture of 3626b showing vented stud should be moved or deleted
|
Remember this case
Image will not be deleted.
Picture and note was added in November 2018. When Paul found it for the first
time and admin that time didn't know more about it so they added his picture
and a note to current 3626b
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1115430
For the first time vented head was found in sets in march 2020
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1184827
so 1,5 half year later
But see Paul later message from march therad
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1185193
When you compare current vented stud and one on Paul image you will see that
bar is different - thinner. So it isn't present part 28621. Origin of Paul
mold I think is still unknown.

I supplemented a note for 3626b with above informations for now.

name (it's not Glitter Trans-Clear, might look so in the LEGO picture but
it's definitely not clear).
The other changes I don't understand the rejection but there might be a reason.
Why this is a decorated tile instead of modified (since it's not flat). Can

and this is a problem when submitters give us only LEGO renders from LEGO database

Finally somebody showed what part really looks like. Please submit photograph
of real part to replace render which is very missleading.
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogImageAdd.page?itemType=P
Also please write here what is part number molded on part.
Part will be then moved and number changed.
Word pattern in description stays as it also used for dual molded parts without
print, best example is here
* | | 49656pb01 Rock 1 x 1 Geode with Molded Glitter Trans-Bright Green Crystals Pattern Parts: Rock |
* | | 49656pb02 Rock 1 x 1 Geode with Molded Glitter Trans-Dark Pink Crystals Pattern Parts: Rock |
* | | 49656pb03 Rock 1 x 1 Geode with Molded Glitter Trans-Light Blue Crystals Pattern Parts: Rock |
also frequently in some new headgar and hairs with headgear for example
there is no print but it is two colored and dual molded
Category then shopuld be Tile, Modified, Decorated
as it is part with decoration in different color not plain modified ones whole
in one color.

In Marvel comics:
Mar-Vell
Monica Rambeau
Genis-Vell
Phyla-Vell
Khn'nr
Noh-Varr
Carol Danvers
So it is complicated

No Marvel (now Disney) owns the copyright for Captain Marvel.
Maybe you could call him "The superhero formally known as Captain Marvel."

When typing German, if umlaut letters are not available, it is usual to replace
them with the underlying vowel followed by an ⟨e⟩. So, for example, "Schröder"
becomes "Schroeder"
So should be correctly then Oezil not Ozil

Yes, that would linguistically correct, but the issue is that people need to
be able to find items in the catalog. If they know it is officially called Özil
they are far more likely to search for Ozil instead of Oezil.
Niek.

And for that reason, we did the following:
It ain't pretty, but it works.

Maybe I just got the wrong catmin when I asked for the DFB names to be added.
As I mentioned here: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1136187
The one that is really annoying when searching is André Schürrle.
He has both first and second names unsearchable if you cannot type diacritics.
At least for Ozil, you can use Mesut.
And for some reason, it was allowed here:
but not here:
As for Oezil vs Ozil, if you read most UK tabloids it will be Ozil. Broadsheets
will have the umluat.

The Ö in Özil is not a German Ö. It's a Turkish Ö. I do not know whether
the description Oe is identical there.
It is also called umlaut and not umluat.

And here I thought it was only US papers that did that:
“English is a straightforward, frank, honest, open-hearted, no-nonsense language,
which has little truck with such devilish devious devices as accents; indeed
U.S. editors and printers are often thrown into a dither when a foreign word
insinuates itself into the language. However there is one word on which Americans
seem to have closed ranks, printing it confidently, courageously, and almost
invariably complete with accent—the cheese presented to us as Münster.
Unfortunately, Munster doesn't take an accent.”

For example, the 2 LBG 2357 are not in this set at all and they have added a
1x4 DBG brick.

When I was doing this inventory I noticed two different instruction for this
set and I prepared what are differences but this was not accepted by inventory
admins. Here you have all ready just submit changes:
Instructions ver 1
Id number 6296456 (this one I have exactly physical copy in my set) this is European
version
https://www.lego.com/biassets/bi/6296456.pdf
Id number 6296457 American version
https://www.lego.com/biassets/bi/6296457.pdf
According to Brickset those versions are "No longer listed at LEGO.com" but as
you can see links are still active but hidden.
So based on above version is current inventory
Instruction ver 2
Id number 6320661 this is European version (V29)
https://www.lego.com/biassets/bi/6320661.pdf
Id number 6320663 this is American version (V39)
and because of higher ID numbers I think these are newer versions and those are
active on LEGO.com
https://www.lego.com/pl-pl/service/buildinginstructions/search#?search&text=75257
So as I said inventory is done base on ver 1 (older) I've discovered it because
of parts count discrepancy. When I initially uploaded inventory and added parts
which were missing in automatic upload from online instruction (I do it that
way as it is easier to just copy and paste PCCs, then I check everything with
physical copy) so I ended with different part count than on the box So when
building and checking physical copy of set I came to bag 5 and then building
it I found out that I have different parts than in my initial upload and that
is why I discovered two different instruction and parts count. BTW LEGO inventory
from parts replacement in some of those parts quantities match with newer version.
So I dig through it and here are results and what is redesigned. Differences
are only on two pages and concerning only bag 5.
Page 117 of instruction
step 178
ver 2 has 1x part 3024 in LBG which ver 1 doesn’t
step 179
ver 1 has 2x 2357 in LBG
ver 2 has 1x 3010 in DBG and 1x 3710 in DBG
step 180
ver 1 has 1x 3020 in Dark Tan
ver 2 has the same parts as on step 181 in ver 1
step 181
ver 2 has 1x 3023 in LBG and 1x 3004 in LBG
Now full comparison of version 1 and 2
ver 1 (1351)
- lack of part 3010 in DBG
- there is part 2357 in LBG 2x
- 3710 in DBG 26x
- 3020 in Dark Tan 3x
- 3004 in LBG 3x
- 3024 in LBG 3x
- 3023 in LBG 11x
parts 48x
ver 2 (1353 parts)
- there is part 3010 1x in DBG
- lack of part 2357 in LBG
- 3710 in DBG 27x
- 3020 in Dark Tan 2x
- 3004 in LBG 4x
- 3024 in LBG 4x
- 3023 in DBG 12x
parts 50x
so that makes new version with more parts count

Now I understand whole misunderstaning about coral here
You can see in the system in shop listnings
"Coral Plant Thallus, Seaweed"

but in this case part name is only
"Plant Thallus, Seaweed"
and coral is name of color we use

so whole misunderstanding is here that we use coral in the color meaning but
you thought it is "Coral Plant" - Coral as animal.
Yes it looks strange in listnings but Coral as for now on our system is name
of color not animal.

in my opinion this is seaweed not coral
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seaweed
and btw LEEGO offcial name of this part is plant
https://brickset.com/parts/design-49577
PLANT, W/ 3.2 SHAFT, NO. 2
so I think this also prevails towards seaweed than coral.
|
Out of curiousity, if there would be a coral part, would it be put in... Animal?
|
Should be, zoologist tells you
|
By the way, off topic: I think frogs should really be in Animal,Water. They look
too awkward amongst my bag of cats and dogs and his water buddies miss him.
|
and this is a problem they are water and land animals. Of course all amphibians
need to breed in water and their larve need water but then adults of many species
lives only on land, adult toads for example or Salamndra salamandra. Also in
frogs are species more connected to water and less connected to water. For example
our central european Rana temporaria and Rana arvalis most adult live spend on
land and return to water to breed but Rana lessonae or Rana esculenta they prefer
water than land as adult.

Some minutes ago, I found out that the "Coral" part (49577) is included in the
Plant Section of Bricklink, which is scientifically wrong. Coral is an Animal!
Please check additional information here:

I wrote to customer service of Bricklink explaining this mistake. I hope they
change this part to the Animal Water section!
Best,

in my opinion this is seaweed not coral
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seaweed
and btw LEEGO offcial name of this part is plant
https://brickset.com/parts/design-49577
PLANT, W/ 3.2 SHAFT, NO. 2
so I think this also prevails towards seaweed than coral.

p.s. Rhodophyta even maybe

When comparing two Darth Vader figures I had, I discovered a mold variance between
two helmets. The "old" type came likey was made from 1999-2014, while The "new"
type appeared in the 2019 20th Anniversary Clone Scout Walker I think
this new mold was created because in order to create the anniversary figure lego
wanted to use a 1 piece Vader helmet, as opposed to the 2 piece helmets they
switched to a couple of years ago. This mold variation deserves a note in the
catalog entry for the helmet,, or a variant added to the catalog, but I'm
not sure which. If someone wants to take the appropriate action from here, please
go ahead. See the attached image for the differences between the two.
|
I have an original helmet from 1999 and it is fur sure the left variant, so that's
definitly not a new mold. I would also say that most if not all images here show
the left variant:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=30368&in=M
And regarding the reintroduction of the old helmet in set 75261, the designers
said that the old mold was still available:
https://www.brothers-brick.com/2019/04/09/interview-with-lego-star-wars-designers-jens-kronvold-and-kurt-kristiansen-feature/
So I am wondering: Where did you find the right variant and are you sure it is
a genuine LEGO part?
|
I agree with Jonas.
Your "old" mold on right is suspicious. I just take a look on my Vaders from
different years and in all I have left helmet with narrow nose so your "new"
mold. And there is only one diffrence between oldest and newer Vader halmets
from this mold (later on this).
For this post I just took 4 representants from different years.
1) First one is
years 1999-2003
My minfigure on images is from 2002 set.
2) Second one is
years 2009-2016
My minfigure on images is from 2011 set.
3) Third one is
this ony came onluy in 2014 advent calendar.
4) fourth one
the newest one from 2019 anniversary set.
and as you can see all of them have identical narrow nose just like "new one"
from your photo.
The only change is that somwhere in timeline LEGO started to add molded number
on this helmet and LEGO logo. Oldest ones don't have mold number and LEGO
logo. It is visible on images. But with mold number this helmet was already in
2014 advent calendar set and this helmet is identical with 2019 helmet.
btw LEGO has for this part only one mold number and one PCC
https://brickset.com/parts/design-30368
I also check that in this Vader from 2013
helmet is also already with mold number on it. (and it is of course identical
with 2019 one). I couldn't track for now when LEGO have started to molding
part number on this helmet. But beside this only difference oldest helmet without
part number are identical with newer ones with part number.

| Hello
I got a quote request from a customer saying that the shipping was too high.
When I looked at the order it looks like the below piece is the issue.
I have shipped this part before with no issues as lettermail.
With Canada post anything thicker than 2cm must be sent as parcel which is much
more expensive.
I am trying to understand how bricklink takes the 2x2x2 and translates that to
shipping dimensions in centimetres or inches.
Also can someone help me to understand how this can be 2x2x2 when one side is
longer than it is wide.
Is one of the measurements stacked bricks?
Thanks for any help
Edward

I don't know how to add an alternate part for a minifigure. Another question: how can I add the counterpart of the four slope courved with stickers? Many thanks for all.

So this request has been rejected a note to the minfigure has been added.
|
If it had been anyone other than the person who discovered the new piece, I would
think it wasn't really two versions.
|
Inventory of this set was made from Sealed Set Content by Stormchaser and there
are two DBG 44302b so it was logicall that this min figs would have the same
parts even it minfig by itself was inventoried from instruction but luckily
only 4 were used here and two are still in set inventory. So assumpsion was correct
that minfig will have the same variant as one currently in inventory from sealed
set content.
