Hello Admins (Stormchaser?)

I've been listing several minifig components within my store, and I noticed
that for this item

Part No: 15339 Name: Minifigure Armor Breastplate with Shoulder Pads and Front Stud
*
15339 Minifigure Armor Breastplate with Shoulder Pads and Front Stud
Parts: Minifigure, Body Wear

It's listed to have been released in 2014

I've got one with the 2012 date.

Can this be rectified?

Mine is Flat Silver.

Regards,

Paul

(Also, please check out my other catalogue suggestion?)

Shouldn't there be a separate category for these, like the Minifig Head Gear
Accessories?

I'm guessing that no-one likes the idea as laid out above?

Try looking for the sunglasses WITHOUT going direct to the Friends section, especially
if you don't know that they are from the Friends line....

Which colour code will I need to use if I were to go down the route of getting
a small rattle can made up?

It’s “ink,” so I’d go with Pantone or/and CMYK.

or would there be something smaller, like a a tester pot?

Eh, bring your parts to “test” and when the colour’s okay, just run!

I like your way of thinking....

Jokes aside, what does happen in this regard?

I've got 2 of the parts that need covering/colouring, and so what would be
the "correct" procedure to use?

I get paint mixed for my day job and the colour can vary a lot depending on the

If available, the code for the official Lego colour would be a starting point
though.

  Hello.

I have a huge dilemma.

Yes, I know that I can do what I like when it comes to my own LEGO, and I really
NEED to find out the best way to get 2 specific parts coloured to the colour
I need.

I've built a Harry Potter "Knight Bus" in the same manner as the Creator
"London Bus" set, and this has been 99% successful, with the exception of this
part:-

Part No: 24599 Name: Brick, Round Corner 5 x 5 x 1 without Studs
*
24599 Brick, Round Corner 5 x 5 x 1 without Studs
Parts: Brick, Round

This element NEEDS to be in Dark Purple

As I'm based in the UK, I really need to find the nearest and best product
to use to get this covered in Dark Purple (paint, or even some kind of wrap/lacquer)

Other than trying to get someone to 3-D print one, I'm stuck.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Paul

You can search under Matchbox White Van customisers and restorers, they paint
plastic all the time.
Or any other construction set builder.

Show us when it is done

Maxx

Not sure if your sentence works, but Plastic modelling is something I used to
do, but It has been a few years (decades more like) since I last painted a complete
kit.

Humbrol paints were the medium I used, and I'd totally forgot about how good
their gloss was as I'd very rarely used it., so it's probable that I
can find a similar colour, but that will have to be on hold at the moment.

I promise to put up pictures soon..

The inventory says that there are 2 of these with the same sticker, but I can see from the sticker sheet that there is 1, and the other is of a different pattern, hence this change request. (will see if I can add the other to the catalogue)

I really did not anticipate such negative, unproductive responses to a simple
suggestions. Asking for a better descriptive system for used parts is hardly
akin to calling for a 3rd party grading company, and your reply of such shows
that you are not commenting here to be productive.

Sorry I offended you with my suggestion.

Your suggestion has SOME merit, but in reality, did you actually look at the
feedback of the sellers that you bought from?

The feedback is a marvellous indicator as to whether a seller is selling substandard
used parts or not, and by substandard, I mean scratched, bitten, and broken clips.

NOT ONCE, have I ever sent out a broken part unless it was in a place that was
unnoticeable (ie underneath), and I'd mentioned it in listing it because
it's a rare-ish piece.

I've bought from sellers in the past, and I've had nibbled parts, and
I do, and will contact them to complain, but ultimately, they are a kid's
toy, worth on average 2-5p, unlike the cards you mention.

I have no idea as to what the lowest value cards are, and I bet they are probably
20x more than a 2p piece of Lego, and that is the issue, as this is why BL won't
have the grading value that you are hoping for.

Best way to avoid all of the issues that you are concerned about, is to buy NEW
elements.

Have a good day

Hi all.

I managed to pick up one of these sets today, and I remember seeing an article
on-line about how this would combine the playability of the LEGO parts with the
Japanese love of working with paper, so I snaffled it.

Set No: e1a1401 Name: MUJI Basic Set
*
e1a1401-1 (Inv) MUJI Basic Set
64 Parts, 2011
Sets: Muji

Now, looking through the contents, I note that the original submitter did NOT
include the paper sheets, nor is there a picture of the instruction sheet/booklet

Would it really be in the interests of the catalogue to include this via the
inventory?

There are extra elements as well, which I will add shortly

I'm just concerned about the paper elements.

There are 8 different designs to be built, and the first design had been cut
out (badly), and, to my surprise, a purposely made hole puncher had been made
for use with this line, but wasn't included, so an ordinary one had been
used, which shows, as the holes are not in the right places....

Can the Cat admin(s) chime in over this?

Thanks in advance!

Paul

Rare and expensive, if it really exists and these 2 lots for sale are not typo's.

But I suspect that they are yellowed to the point where they look 'Tan'....

Possibly a heavily yellowed part?

I've seen white elements that look 'tan' in terms of colour.

look inside the part, and you should be able to determine whether it is actually
that colour

I've noticed some blue and black versions that look different. The shade
of blue is a bit greenish (image may not show this clearly) and the shade of
blue is a bit greyish. They are easily identifiable by their color variation
but they can also be identified by some whitening/fraying along the edges. I
believe they're made from a softer plastic than usual. Are these vintage
or from certain special sets?

/Jan

Honestly?

I wouldn't be surprised if this is indeed the case, as I have seen differences
in 2x2 inverted slopes, especially with Blue, and LEGO has experimented with
various 'compositions' of the plastic over the years, and I have often
seen texture differences with 1x plates, as well as various Trans colours, as
there are documented differences over the years of some of them being quite distinctly
different, but LEGO doesn't distinguish between them, for example, Trans
Orange comes to mind, and I 've seen Trans Light Blue come into play as well.

You can always list them separately, and I've done this myself.

Ah yes, thank you Paul for giving me my opening. I actually have submitted things
only to have it rejected. I'm sure I didn't fill out the form correctly,
not for a lack of effort, I just find the form to be convoluted as heck. If
it were a bit more user friendly, I think it make a huge difference in soliciting
volunteer submissions.

It's fairly easy.

For any part that is stickered, you will need to find the numerical identifier
of the last one to be issued, and for that, I use the add an image section to
find it.

Have 3 tabs up,

1st is the catalogue.
2nd is Add an image section
3rd is Add a Part section.

Say that you want to add a stickered 45deg 1x2 slope.

Find the highest number of that particular part you can quickly find.

input that number in the add image box, and it should show that part in a description.

Cycle through numbers by 10 until you get an error, and then decrease the numbers
until you then get a description, and you can then increase by 1 to get the next
sequential number.

Take a reasonable good picture of the part, preferably in daylight, or under
multiple lights, to eliminate shadows, and resize the pic to a Thumbnail on the
PC. (upload the picture, but don't submit the image yet)

Go to the add part section.

Add the number and identifier to the necessary boxes, along with the dimensions,
weight and such.

Use the same description(s) that other like parts have been added to the catalogue
before, and try to be accurate as possible.

Add the part to the catalogue.

Go back to the image section, and when you click on the verify , it should bring
up the item that you have just submitted, and you can then submit the corresponding
image.

I've done this with some of my mug collection, and will be doing others soon.

Have fun!

It doesn't matter to me what we call it. I just wish the database was a

*
41150-1 (Inv) Moana's Ocean Voyage
295 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 2017
Sets: Disney: Disney Princess: Moana

Why not buy the set and then add the stickered parts yourself?

Just remember, ALL of the pictures and set inventories are done by volunteers,
who spend time to collect parts and photograph them, adjust the ratios, colours
and what not, to add them to the catalogue.

I've done a few parts in my time, and to be honest, if I were getting paid
to do this, I'd be over it like a rash, but, hey, working with LEGO is a
labour of love....

Try it and see....

Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 10134 Name: Y-wing Attack Starfighter - UCS
*
10134-1 (Inv) Y-wing Attack Starfighter - UCS
1485 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 2004
Sets: Star Wars: Ultimate Collector Series: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6

* Add 11 Part 32064 Light Bluish Gray Technic, Brick 1 x 2 with Axle Hole (Alternate)

Comments from Submitter:
I have just disassembled one of these sets, and I was told by the seller that the set was direct from a sealed box, and the quality of the parts, along with the 'feel' of them confirm this, and I noticed that the Technic Bricks are different, hence this request

In this set are 16x LBG of alternate mold for this you want to add
[p=32064b]
are you sure the quantity? (11x)

Yes, I had a mix, of which it was 5 of the newer type, and 11 of the older type,
hence the numbers quoted.

  For discussion: the additional note
"The top of the heads of the earliest examples of this part had a more squared-off
forehead as shown on the left in the comparison image (image courtesy of chetzler)."
is, in my opinion, not correct.

Earlier versions had a more round forehead (shown on the right), the later examples
(Futuron, Blacktron and later) hat a more squared-off head (shown on the left).

Part No: 3626ap01 Name: Minifigure, Head Standard Grin Pattern - Solid Stud
*
3626ap01 Minifigure, Head Standard Grin Pattern - Solid Stud
Parts: Minifigure, Head

Can you explain as to how you can come to this conclusion?

I have seen only a few minifigs with the squared off heads, and they all have
been in the early sets, not Futuron or Blacktron ones....

Just asking, that's all....
