Hi Russell,
Just mailed you my thoughts about this (as I was the one to add the most recent
changes to this set).
I also checked the instructions: these do NOT show the trailer on the ladder
truck. But I'm 100% sure it was there. When playing with the set back in
1974, I remember it was very hard to drive backwards because of the trailers!
Yes: it's from the time i actually played with Lego

I've looked at two complete sets (one of which was in a box, and the other one was once bought by me back in 1974), and both have the left hook. I suppost left/right hooks were included in this era depending on stock.

These are bright green, not green. The small images that are present in BL for bright green are the same colour as these for the green versions; these ONLY exist in bright green.

Thanks for approving the part and adding it as an alternate.
As far as I knew, the wheels weren't detachable, but it did happen once that
both wheels were detached when our grandson throw the elephant around the floor.
I took a better look, and indeed they are detachable, but I first doubt if this
was intentionally done so. However: the picture in the Dutch catalogue shows
the elephant with wheels detached, so maybe it was intended after all.
I did find another picture showing the set including boxes and all elements (so
without the rattle); see below. On Dutch and German eBay sites (as well as eBay
related Dutch www.marktplaats.nl) there are some offers without as well as with
the bow tie version. On eBay.com I can't find either of them at them moment.

I've seen several sets now (all European), and all had the trans-neon-versions. I've never seen a version having trans-yellows.
I have a clear picture available, that shows the difference between the x112 starfish from the Friends Advent Calender (Tr-Yell) and the x112 starfish from the 5960 Mermaid castle (tr-Neon-Yell).

I tried to built the set using the BL inventory, but came two green 2x4's short: the raised baseplate has a 4x4 pond/pit, that has to be filled up according to the picture. This can be done by using 2 green 2x4 bricks. I assume two were used and not 4 2x2 bricks, but the picture doesnt show that clearly.

The rattle brick isn't included in this set. The elephants nose seems to have one, but that's a similar brick without the rattle, with with a rope to pull the elephant.
The elephant comes with and without bow tie. I just entered a new item (gear) for the elephant with bow tie. However I can add the item only after it is approved. I'll do that right after approval.
Please consider the lid and elephant to be catalogued as parts in stead of gears. Other Primo elements (e.g. some storage form lids) are listed as parts. In that case, it would be possible to add an assembly for the elephant plus lid, as a "Ride on elephant".

These changes are from the Original set I got back in 1974. I don't know how to exactly enter the changes for the wheels. There were 7 wheels (for single tyre) with black brick, but my set had 5 plus 2 with white brick (for the "sports car" in this set).

| Hi,
I can imagine your doubt, but I am 100% sure about this. This was the first set
I ever got (and the one I am looking at is the very same set). That particular
set did not show the flag as shown in the instructions or box.
This was the era that Lego changed from "open O" to "closed O". The "old" flag
shows the open O, and the time my set was bought, the official Logo (also on
the instructions) was the closed O. So I suppose at one time they ran out of
"open-O" flags and replaced it with this one (including two sticker sheets).
These sticker sheets were also in my old Lego collection and are offered in my
BL shop since a while.

Same goes for other changes I am currently proposing, moslty about different
granulated trees than pictured in instructions, left/right front door changes
and white/milky white antennas.
