I am trying to enter an alternate part change request and keep getting the error
of "item no required if item type is entered", which I know is incorrect since
the system already has the info when you enter the inv item number. I notice
the layout has been updated since the last time I used it, with the action column
being a drop down now and the item type column has been removed (part, gear,
etc).
I am curious if others are getting the same error, and what I can do to overcome
it.

Thanks,
Jim

The serpent uses 8 red horns, 2 for the head, 2 for the first body part and 4
for the third body part.

Open up Bricksstock

Go to Extras - Update database - you should then see a screen telling you it
is updating the database - when that finishes then import your inventory - that
should fix things for the catalogue/database changes that Bricklink are making.

As an on-going thing you should always run the extras - update database command
each time you open Brickstock - this ensure you are working with the latest catalogue
updates.

Hope that helps.

BTW we see the sets you are querying in our Brickstock so they are in the catalogue.

Thanks! This works. Never used the extra -update the database.

Greetings Ronald

I was wondering if there is a way to backup the inventory of whats in your store,
and how to restore it if there was a problem with the website. I saw a section

anyone can help with this question that would be great, thank you so much.

HI there

There are 2 different ways to backup your inventory. The first is the one you
mention - download the inventory and save it as a xml file. If you then have
to restore it you can use the mass upload inventory feature to bring it back.

The 2nd way and somewhat easier, in our opinion is the use of Brickstock to download
your store inventory - that saves it as a bsx file and there is a reverse command
to upload it back to Bricklink.

Hope that helps

Thank you this will help me out thank you for the help.

Wait for Brickstock database update.

Already thought so, Thanks

Hello, yesterday I deleted the 10 items that gives the error.
today I add 1 again. And still the same so deleted it again.
What does Brickstock have to do before it is importing my stock without problems?
Are they doing this automatic without noticing from customers of the programme?

Greetings Ronald

You can use the instructions to see the parts for bag 1. Go though the instructions
until you reach the icon to open bag two. All of the parts are in the parts
lists for each step.

I'm very pleased to announce that we have appointed a new Inventories Administrator,
to fill in the place that Marek left when he was promoted to Catalog Associate.

For this position we have selected member Paulvdb (Paul), whom many of you may
know as a catalog contributor, inventories contributor, and Forum participant.
He is also an established seller (since 2011, I believe) so many of you may know
him also through that channel.

Paul has distinguished himself especially by his work with older inventories,
sharing many sealed set contents data with the site for some of our precious
old vintage sets. We have found his contributions to be ultra reliable and think
he is going to do very well in this new role.

Congratulations are in order!

Russell

Thank you all. I hope to do well in this new position.

LARGE Vs. SMALL

Unless you get exactly the same thing in each cup this calculation really doesn't
work. It works for you if you are curious as to the value you got but really
has nothing to do with the difference in size.

Just one example: You have the 28 1x4 which would be equivalent to about 250-350
1x1 round plates which equals nearly $12 (assuming 300).

I think a simple solution would be to fill the small cup with water twice and
dump it into the large cup to see what the difference in volume is.

That is a rough guide but with bricks you cannot fill the cups completely due
to voids. I know in the past people have checked the value of filling a big vs
small cup with just one type of part at a time (2x4 bricks or 1x1 round tiles).

For example, you can get 102 2x4s (8.8c each) in a small cup, compared to 167
(9.6c) in a large. Whereas if you just scoop into the small cup, it is down at
56 bricks (16.1c).
