They weren't reverted. I changed the pieces you added to be the regular parts
in the main inventory. I found a lot of evidence on this set, and I believe that
the other versions that were in the main inventory were never in the set so removed
them.

Is it not used once Lego puts it on the backing? The sticker is then stuck to
the backing that needs to be peeled off to put it on the Lego element. So if
it has not been put on the original backing it is new. Once it is stuck on the
white backing it is used.

Nope, a new, blank sticker sheet already has the backing. The backing is like
a sprue. LEGO doesn’t put the sticker on the backing, they print on the sticker
while it’s on the backing.

So it’s the printing that makes the new, blank sticker sheet not new anymore.
A new sticker should be pristine white (or transparent), unprinted.

Bump!

Nobody know how to deal with dimensions?

  Hello,

I was looking to define some missing parts dimensions.
With standard bricks, it's easy, but how do we define dimensions when parts
are not standard?

Maybe I miss something, but I didn't find the rules there:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=261

For example:

Part No: 73037pb01 Name: String Reel Winch 2 x 4 x 2 (Light Gray Drum) with Black and Yellow Danger Stripes Pattern (Sticker) - Set 6361
*
73037pb01 String Reel Winch 2 x 4 x 2 (Light Gray Drum) with Black and Yellow Danger Stripes Pattern (Sticker) - Set 6361
Parts: String Reel / Winch
The size is [2 x 4 x 2] or [2 x Y x 2] ?

Part No: 2426c01 Name: Technic Rack Winder
*
2426c01 (Inv) Technic Rack Winder
Parts: Technic
The size is [2 x 5 x 2] or [2 x 4 x 2] ?

Part No: 6249 Name: Brick, Modified 2 x 4 with Pins
*
6249 Brick, Modified 2 x 4 with Pins
Parts: Brick, Modified
The size is [2 x 6] or [2 x 4] ?

[p=bb73]
The size is [4 x 4] or [Y x Y x Y] ?

PS: I put "Y" in my examples, because I don't have the parts in front of
me.

I'm sure you're not peeved daily, Lisa

We're talking about adopting a dog, as my son has out grown his allergy.
If we do, what do you think about naming our new pet, Peeve?

But seriously, it makes sense what you're proposing

Oh, my gosh. Get a lab! I had German Shepherds for over 30 years, and we finally
let my son, Daniel, have a choice. He wanted a lab, so we found someone with
lab puppies and he chose a yellow one and named him Archer. He has been with
us almost 4 years and he is the happiest dog I know! I take him to the dog park
almost daily (it is very close to the post office!) and I love to watch him play
with other dogs, or just to play with me: he loves tennis ball, frisbee, tug
toys, etc. A really good, friendly family dog! (and doesn't have the double
coat shedding that the German Shepherds have!)

I have a few stickered parts, acquired second-hand, from sets 60009-1, 75872-1
and 75051-1. I'd like to be able to inventory them properly in my collection,
but all or most of the stickered part catalog entries for these sets have not
been created yet on BrickLink. I could submit catalog additions for all of them,
but I'm a bit hesitant since I've never done that before on BrickLink,
and I don't have all the stickered parts for each set. Are there any of
you guys out there who have one or more of these sets and could submit the stickered
parts? It would be a great help. (Otherwise I'll get around eventually
to figuring out how to do it myself.)

Since we are talking about stickers, I see incomplete sticker sheets listed as
"new" as well on occasion.

Since there isn't an "incomplete" option, they should be considered "used"
IMHO.

How would I list an element like this if you disabled new? Totally agree on
the applied aspect but a generic limitation may not be the way.

gave up and listed most of my used boxes as new just like most sellers do.

Agreed. A box cannot be new if it has been opened! Now, if you have a sealed
box and you have magically transported the contents out of the box without opening
it, then I would make an exception and it can be listed as 'new'.

Or you if you get them directly from LEGO (or their supplier) before they are
filled.
Unless in that case you call them “pre-new” or “not-even-new-yet”

If someone actually got unused boxes from lego that is the only case where they
are actually new since they were not used for their intended purpose.

My son, daughter & I like all dogs! But we did grow to LOVE a certain Dachshund

312 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 1996
Sets: Belville: Playhouse

* Add 1 Minifig belvmale12 Belville Male - Black Pants, White Shirt, Black Hair, Multicolored Necktie (Alternate)

Comments from Submitter:
This minifig has brown (not black) hair in all the sets of 5895 I have seen.

So you are trying to replace the figure in the inventory with black hair with
a figure that has brown hair?

The correct way to do that would be to ask for a change in the inventory from
one figure to another. The request you are asking for here would add the same
exact figure to the inventory that is already in the inventory. Therefore, this
request does not solve the problem and will be rejected.

However, you have brought up an issue that needs looking into.

According to the packaging and set instructions, the figure should have brown
hair. When I look through the BrickLink catalog, I do not see a figure like this
with brown hair, only black hair. So that is question number one: Is there a
figure like this that actually exists with brown hair? If there is (and your
request as well as the instructions and packaging suggests so), then we hit the
next step: The figure with brown hair would need to be added to the BrickLink
catalog because it does not currently exist in the catalog. After that, we would
finally reach the question that concerns the set inventory: Which figure came
in this set originally? The one with black hair, the one with brown hair, or
one of them sometimes and the other one sometimes?

I don't know if I will be able to find enough information to answer and solve
all of these issues, but I will try.

Cheers,
Randy

I'm 100% in agreement with you that a piece with a sticker on it is considered
used. But for example, say I have a sheet of stickers from a set that are unused
and I cut out each individually and sell the brand new piece with its unused
sticker along with it? It's similar to the Special Assemblies where they
are separated from the complete set and require their stickers to be cut from
the original sheet. I feel that the New option should still exist, but only used
for that specific case (as rare as it may be).

Cheers,
Randy

Thank you for your reply. I have never seen this figure with black hair. So either
there is 2 versions of this minifig - or there never was a minifig
with black hair.

When searching for a part, it would be useful if the items for sale list could
highlight, prioritise, or otherwise indicate stores for which I already have
an open cart.

Ideally I'd like stores with open carts to be at the top of the list, with
an 'add to cart' button with a quantity entry box, to just add the item,
without going into the store page.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing this. So another set redesign during production.
You have different instruction that one available on the web. See attached photo.
So not only the diffrence is in part 3665 which is four insetad of two but then
your copy is also missing 2 of

Part No: 3660 Name: Slope, Inverted 45 2 x 2 with Flat Bottom Pin
*
3660 Slope, Inverted 45 2 x 2 with Flat Bottom Pin
Parts: Slope, Inverted
So this case need different approach to changes here.

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=1562
Redesigned Sets - Sometimes a set is redesigned during production. To be considered
a redesign the changes to the set must be reflected in the instructions and involve
a change in quantity or color for at least one part in the Regular Items section.
If the redesign is significant, the set is given two entries in the BrickLink
catalog. However, if the redesign involves only a few parts in the Regular Items
section, the changes are indicated in that section and this one with match ID
number 99. The earliest version of a set is always included in the Regular Items
section.

4x4665 then should be in alternates section with match ID 99 with 2665 and 3666

Can you please send a scan ot good photographs of whole instruction to our mail:
inv@BrickLink.com becose there could be other changes in this set as what I see
on photo you provided fot his step in building it also misisng

Part No: 3795 Name: Plate 2 x 6
*
3795 Plate 2 x 6
Parts: Plate
and has only one

Part No: 3666 Name: Plate 1 x 6
*
3666 Plate 1 x 6
Parts: Plate
not two.

My personal vote is "ammunition belt". It makes it difficult to find a torso
in the catalog when you don't know the character or theme.

For example: "Torso Pharaoh's Quest Tan Waistcoat, White Shirt, Bandolier
and Silver Buckle Pattern (Jake Raines) / Tan Arms / Yellow Hands" (973pb0781c01)

"Torso Monster Fighters with Ammunition Belt Pattern / Dark Tan Arms / Yellow
Hands" (973pb1113c01)

These two items are similar-looking.

You can submit any name change you would like using the following form:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogReq.asp?itemType=P

The catalog admins will then decide whether the change will be accepted or not.

Photos side by side of both of them, on left sw0530 from 2014, on right sw0993

especially on front emblem and on shoulders.

That simply looks like a print fidelity difference. This happens with many parts.
The printing can change as the equipment wears down, the printing can change
as advances are made in printing technology, the printing can change with part
alignment during the printing process, etc.

In other words, looks like the same minifig to me.

Quite unfortunate, as this creates far more headaches for sellers parting it
out, creating potential inventory shortages. Perhaps there is another way to
document the extra pieces being present in some (perhaps a small quantity) of
this set? There must be a better way to document this, especially if unknown
quantities of these released sets exist.

This argument has come up time and time again on BrickLink. The information in
the BrickLink inventories is meant to be used as a guide and is not guaranteed
to be correct. In fact, there is a disclaimer at the bottom of every inventory
page:

"Disclaimer: BrickLink does not guarantee an inventory to be correct and
therefore an inventory should be only used as a guide."

It is up to each seller when parting out a set using the provided BrickLink inventories
to ensure that their store inventories are correct. In other words, the argument
you are putting forth for the Extra Items section in a BrickLink inventory can
just as easily apply to all of the other sections of said inventory. What if
the Regular Items section of the BrickLink inventory contains errors? Do you
just blindly accept that it is completely right when parting out the set or do
you actually check your stock?

As you can see by the number of Inventory Change Requests that come through the
forums, there are always errors in BrickLink inventories being fixed. If sellers
are not careful when using the BrickLink inventories, then *any* errors in them
get passed on to their store inventories, whether it be parts in the wrong color,
part shortages, part overages, wrong part variants, etc. So you can see that
the same exact logic applies to every section of the BrickLink inventories including
the Extra Items section.

How do I/can I challenge the original accepted inventory entry? Again, based
on these pieces, I've NEVER come across these specific parts as extras in
any other Lego sets...

What exactly do you want to challenge? The pieces were found as extras in some
sets and not in others. Therefore, they meet the BrickLink definition of an Extra
Item as far as the BrickLink inventories are concerned and they will not be removed.

You may also want to look at the history of the parts you are discussing to see
what has occurred with them in the past.

Part No: 4589b Name: Cone 1 x 1 with Top Groove
*
4589b Cone 1 x 1 with Top Groove
Parts: Cone
has appeared as an extra in 41 sets to date. I have personally confirmed quite
a few of those sets from sealed set contents, so I have seen them as extra parts
a number of times.

Part No: 3957b Name: Antenna 4H - Flat Top
*
3957b Antenna 4H - Flat Top
Parts: Antenna
has appeared as an extra in 30 sets to date. I have not personally confirmed
any of those sets, but I do trust the members that added those parts as extras
(which just so happen to include our other current Inventory Admin as well as
admin Russell at BrickLink headquarters).

Anyone else out these experience this error?

As stated above, these extras are not errors in the BrickLink inventory. They
are just the data as is. You were just one of the unlucky ones to not get more
extra pieces in your set.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,
Randy

To make changes like this, I need to have convincing evidence, since the inventories
were originally submitted to BrickLink by a prior Inventory Administrator.

Were all of your sets purchased new by you or used? If they were new, did
you build the sets yourself and have the pieces of them always remained separate
from other sets?

Cheers,
Randy

92590 Minifigure Backpack / Bag Open

in Dark Tan is already included in

which is in the inventory.

You can verify this by clicking on the "Break Minifigs" hyperlink near the top
of the inventory page to see all of the minifig parts listed with the rest of
the parts of the inventory.

Since the set inventory is correct concerning this part, this request will
be rejected.

Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 8398 Name: BBQ Stand
*
8398-1 (Inv) BBQ Stand
18 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 2009
Sets: Town: City: Food & Drink

* Change 1 Part Reddish Brown {4095 Bar 6.6L with Stop Ring (Patio Umbrella Stand) to 63965 Bar 6L with Stop Ring}

Comments from Submitter:
in instructions there is a number 4538724 and that is not 6.6L bar, but only 6L bar

I have several prototype parts in my store. In fact I am thinking that I will
specialize in these types of parts. Is it possible to have a part type called
prototype? These are molded parts made by Lego that were never released in ant
set or any color.
