Brickset has the part total listed as 3096, but that could be wrong. Also, Stefaan
checked the set against sealed set contents but only made one change (to add

Hi
I bought this box here on BL when the auctions were still alive (was in 2008).
I did a part out (all parts in my set no longer the old grey but the new grey),
got a lot of work ~never understood why no 10030-2 was created with the new grey~
Still a few left over parts and believe it or not but did not see that alternate
part at that time, so found it in 2014 and did the change

You actually added those as extras back in 2009. Are you sure I should get rid
of them? This set seems to be right at the transition time for these parts from
what I am finding, so maybe your set did not have them on sprue.
There are two versions of this set, one with the large Octan sticker (shown in
the unboxing link I posted) and one without. Maybe yours is the one without,
and the version without that sticker had no sprues. If so, I would like to set
up alternates.
Any help with this would be appreciated.

Just checked my set, was build up straight from the MISB and never broken down.
Found in the box the used stickersheet (165345), the plastic bag and the catalog
109883-EU-OS (from 1993).
When I build up this set I leave also a small note with this info:
extra parts:
* 1x Trans-Light Blue Minifigure Visor (2447)
* 1x Black Plate, Round 1 x 1 (4073)
* 1x Trans-Yellow Plate, Round 1 x 1 (4073)
I can not remember this set came with the 4073 on sprue. The 4073 are like they
came on a sprue. But think they came already factory separated.
My set came with the 2412b.

Note: got 2 when I was a kid, still have the sprues. One of the sets I remember
set came with sprues Also: several round plates broke very easily (side) as they

- the grooves can be seen on the set image on the box and instructions - plus this is about 6 years after the grooved version was introduced, in a common color

As I see 2412a (without groove) was spotted in sets till 1997. In 1994 it is
reported from 7 sets less than "b" variant but still founded. "b" variant was
first notice in 1990. So this set is in mold change period so it is possible
that there could be copies od this set with "a" or "b" variant. Red one "a" is
noted
still in 1994 sets.

I forget to write this sentence in first post
"Set images, box images and instruction are not good source for checking parts
variants. Do you have proof from more reliable source?"
When searching for better proofs to this change request I found this (photo attached).
I know this is no proof according to our standards for aproving parts variants
requests, just used set from auction site could be easly tampered, missing parts
replaced without knowledge of parts variants, but there are both variants for
blue of this part Just wanted to show that it is not so simple. Better proof
for it would be from sealed one (this could be hard to found) or for example
also from own collection where is submiter (owner of set) certain that parts
weren't never messed with other sets and he bought it as sealed one personaly
even many years ago. Such proof also could be considered as good and accepted.

The baseplates should be part of set inventory, they are being used in the builds. Also this is consistent with other sets with this storage bin.

It's storage = gear, so what with other storage boxes? And what with the
advent tray?
This one is a complete storage bin, separate and only the box as gear? Alternate
