If seems likely that you floated one out and ran it into a Catmin who felt there was no point in making a change. You then second guessed yourself and tried it a little different and ran it into the other Catmin who may actually have been willing to accept your original submission just as happily as the second.

Name changes of licensed (SW, Superheroes, etc.) or story-based (Ninjago) minifigs
are always critical:
BrickLink mostly always uses the names as written on the boxes or (if not available)
from the set descriptions of s@h.
If figs with different part inventories share the same name by LEGO, additional
identifiers are attached to the name(s) to distinguish them.
These identifiers typically refer to the differences of headgear, neckgear, heads
or other parts of the figs.
Another identifier can be set the number the figs comes in (if unique) in brackets
- not very meaningful, but in a first place sufficient until someone comes with
something better.
On SW and Ninjago figs also the subcategory (EP.8, Rebooted, etc.) can be used
as identifier.
All these identifiers should allow people to better find figs.
What we typically *not* approve, and that's what you try to establish with
your change requests, is *changing* official fig names to what character or character
types some figs are "supposed" to represent according to more or less accurate
online encyclopedias.
If you try to change an Imperial Hovertank Pilot (official name from the box)
to Imperial Tank Trooper, it will be rejected because nobody will find it anymore
when searching the official name.
Your final try to change it to Imperial Hovertank Pilot (Imperial Tank Trooper)
however was accepted because it does not harm the offical name.
The official fig name should be always written in the first place, no idea why
you permanently try to change that to something else.
We all know that LEGO notoriously is not accurate with some of their fig names,
but hey, they are selling toys and not reference products trying to 100% representing
characters, ships, scenes or whatever.
Seriously, additional *information* is always useful, but that does not mean
that any fig with a clear official name needs more identifiers unless the same
name is shared among two or more figs. Sometimes even less is more when it comes
to prevent clutter on the names when looking at lists in the catalog.
Please do no expect us to cross-check with non-LEGO sites whether official LEGO
fig names don't match film or comic encyclopedias.
Bricklink is not a copy of wookieepedia or whatever and we cannot know if informations
from non-LEGO sites are correct, will change sometimes and if or how they are
adaptable to any LEGO products.
So please limit your change requests to correct mistakes or adding information
if the existing information is not sufficient to identify items in the catalog.
Anything else makes the catalog administration less effective.

Speaking of usernames, I find it interesting that a zero feedback user who recently
signed up is submitting a complicated change request for obscure technical details
and then not bothering to comment on it.

Valid point, however I am a real person who just started inventorying classic
80s and 90s sets and came across this issue. I have the original instructions
booklet from a 1995 set that shows the valid part.

But that booklet does not rectify to delete the Type I from the inventory.
Even if the new type was invented by Lego at the time the instruction layout
(which is only a drawing) was created, old variants still appear in sets, produced
at that time, since Lego always mixes new and old variants in the same bins in
their storage.
So it *can* happen (and has happened) that sets contain a new variant and when
a bin is emptied close to the bottom, the old variants appear and are put in
new sets.
So, given the various changes to the inventory of set 6279, both types of the
bush should be in the inventory, one of them as alternate.

Sorry, but it is going to be long.
General comments:
- There are four types of black 12v train motors, but only three types for red
one. The last type (type 4) came only in black.
- On bricklink, only three types are recognized. There is no reference to the
pin located on the top of train. The types one and two came with integrated pin
whereas the types three and four with separated pin. This is because Lego realized
that the pin could break easily, so since 1982 the type three came with separated
pin. If you open the motor, you can take off the pin and replace it with a new
one.
On bricklink, there is a distinction between 3 round contact holes and 3 slotted
contact holes although there is no difference in their functionality. It would
be helpful to also distinguish types three and four.
The match between various types of 12v train motors and the "item No." on bricklink:
Type 1: bb12Va
Type 2: bb12Vb
Type 3: bb12Vb
Type 4: bb12Vc
If my request to add type 3 can be accepted, then we can rename the items as
bb12Va, bb12Vb, bb12Vc and bb12Vd.

Hi,
I think it would be the best to make a note on
[p=bb12Vb]
and adding an additional comparison image (if you could provide one), showing
the different pin situations.
The difference is not as obvious as the different contact holes, so a split of
the part is not justifiable.

- there is a number craved underneath of motor indicating the date the motor
was produced. For example 24 2 means the 24th week in 1982 and 38 0 mean the
38th week in 1980.
Based on this and the motors I have, the earliest and latest motor of each type
are:
Black type 1: 19 0
Black type 2: 8 1 - 24 2
Black type 3: 27 2 - 34 9
Black type 4: 45 9 - (until 1983)
Red type 1: 17 0 , 38 0
Red type 2: 22 1 - 39 2
Red type 3: 37 3 - 17 4

Based on this:
Type one (red and black) motor was produced "probably only" in 1980. (I own a
black motor of type 2 from 8th week in 1981)
Type two black motor was produced since 1981 until mid 1982. (the latest one
I have is made on 24th week in 1982 whereas I have one type 3 made on 27th week
in 1982)
Type two red motor was produced "probably" since 1981 until "probably" end of
1982. (the latest I have is made in 49th week in 1982)
Type three black motor was produced since mid 1982 until "probably" 1993 (with
the set 7865). (need more investigation for the latest date but we don't
really need to know it)
Type three red motor was produced since 1983 until end of 1984. (no train coming
with red motor was released after 1984)
Type four black motor was produced "probably" since late 1989 until 1993.
Then we get three comments:
1) there is an inconsistency between dates of type 2 motors for black and red.
Latest black motor type 2 came in 24th week in 1982 (worst case on 26th week
but not after), but the latest red motor came in 49th week in 1982 (or later).
2) train 7727 from 1983 came first with motors made in late 1982, as there is
one made on 49th week in 1982. This is because Lego had some red motors of type
2 in his stock and used them for motors that came in market in 1983.
Now we can look at years each train or supplemental set was released (I checked
this by going through cataloges 1980-1993):
7730, 7750, 7760: 1980-1982
7740: 1980- 1984
7725: 1981- 1984
7727, 7755: 1983- 1984
7735, 7745: 1985-1990
7865: 1980-1993
5086: 1993
Based on this, we know:
7730: type 1 and type 2 (type 2 also seen and owned by many people)
7750: type 1 already changeed on bricklink (what about type 2?)
7760: types 1, 2 (type 3?)
7740: types 1, 2 and 3
7725: types 1, 2 and 3
7727: types 2 and 3 (type two need a proof but some sellers on bricklink can
confirm this)
7755: type 3 (what about 2?)
7735: type 3 (and 4?)
7745: type 3 (and 4?)
7865: type 1, 2 and 3 (and 4?)
5086: type 4 as is on brcklink
The main black hole is the type 4 coming with service pack 5086 from 1993. But
I own one from 1989. Either the service pack was released since 1989 or 1990
but not 1993, or the type 4 came also with other set or sets (7735?, 7745?,
7865?) This needs more investigation.

Tricky one here. I'll leave these two requests open for a day or so to offer
peeps the opportunity to comment (it would be awesome if you could submit all
the requests for the same set in one batch, by the way).
For this part there is not a set box photo to go by. We have the official set
pictures and the set instructions (both are attached).
The set photos show the parts with the stickers affixed the way you have them.
The instructions, however, show the stickers attached at approximately the middle
of the parts. Using the instructions as a guide, there would only be one of
this part (not a left/right version).
The guidance I see from the Help section is as follows:
| | Stickered parts - A part with sticker applied to it in a manner inconsistent with official LEGO set instructions should not be added to the catalog. Stickered parts in the catalog should reflect the use that LEGO intended and showed for the sticker, with regard to the type, vintage, and color of the part the sticker is applied to.

They should be rejected, and the parts need to be removed from the catalog. The
Help section is pretty clear about what should be in the catalog, and these are
not correct.

Stickers which are smaller than the part on which they are applied are hardly
ever correctly applied. In this case we noticed it upon approval and decided
to approve them.
We can add a note to the entries if necessary.
