In my opinion it is neither color, certainly the 2853s seem to be between the
two (as previously mentioned, improperly dyed yellow). I have found one other
part so far that is similar, which are yellow technic axles. I think a note to
let shoppers know about the issue is necessary, since those looking to complete
older models will be in for a surprise.

Additionally, the 3 or so sets that have been inventoried with the part in BLO,
may be erroneous as whoever did that inventory may have interpreted the crankshaft
as being BLO when really it is neither yellow nor BLO. However it is the "soft"
matte plastic type, which tends to run a bit light in general, so I would be
more inclined to place it in the BLO category, and have listed it as such, until
I see evidence of a true BLO crankshaft.

But NONE of the 120+ crankshafts we have pulled are actually yellow, the only
yellow examples I have found were present in some early 1990s-era display models
we have collected.

pulled this part out of has been BLO despite the fact that the BL cat identifies
it as Yellow. We have seen yellow examples from older models, this new part coming
out of 2014+ era sets is not the same shade. And yet there is no counterpart
(nor should there be, 100% of the sets are showing BLO). Out of over 128 pieces
we have obtained from MISB sets, not a single one is proper Yellow. This seems
to be a problem, as every time we inventory a set, we have to address this discrepancy.

The color of those parts is not Bright Light Orange. They are a poorly dyed variation
of Yellow that approaches the color of Bright Light Orange. LEGO shows that this
part was always made in Yellow and not Bright Light Orange. The inventories here
should be corrected to make sure they are all listed as Yellow. Each seller can
then list that their supply of them is not the typical Yellow, but the darker
variation.

Randy

Since when does TLG's assessment of color factor in to the inventory status
on BrickLink? If that were the case DBG LBG and RB would not exist as colors.

I agree that what you're saying is the way it is, currently. What I do not
agree with is why. Why should every seller list their supply as not being typical
yellow, when that is the case 100% of the time (at least for 2014-2018 era sets
we have inventoried).

I made this post because I believe there should be a note on the part page to
address this. There are several sets which do supposedly include this part in
BLO, and so I would ask you, do those sets actually contain a part which is markedly
different than the Yellow ones we have pulled out of sets?

As an aside, there are far more frivolous notations (as the notations present
with part 3626b, for example). It is my belief that the c-admins are unaware
of this issue, so I am bringing it to their attention. I highly doubt the ideal
solution is what you say it is. This part is not yellow, period. And there are
a lot of variations with the color Yellow, true, but this is not one of them.

It has been documented. The set inventory has been updated with the changes

Hi Robert

strange, the '99' only viewable on this page:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=6386-1
on this page I get the '1':

Stefaan

Interesting looks like in all inventories where "99" MID is used in this new
inventory page is is change to "1" MID. Checked only few from this list
https://brickset.com/sets/list-18333 for example

Set No: 75072 Name: ARC-170 Starfighter
*
75072-1 (Inv) ARC-170 Starfighter
91 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 2015

Set No: 75101 Name: First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter
*
75101-1 (Inv) First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter
501 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 2015
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 7

Set No: 75882 Name: Ferrari FXX K & Development Center
*
75882-1 (Inv) Ferrari FXX K & Development Center
476 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 2017
Sets: SPEED CHAMPIONS

Set No: 31070 Name: Turbo Track Racer
*
31070-1 (Inv) Turbo Track Racer
664 Parts, 2017

The same sitation as you described it.

Only 4 part #4515 are needed to complete the build for this set. This set came
with optional stickers in case you have more than one and want to display them
together but have them be distinctive. I found the following at brickset;

"Take the battle to the Separatists with the Republic Attack Gunship! This heavily
armed and armored Clone Wars troop carrier can fly and land in any battlefield
or hostile terrain. Features include opening troop bay doors, removable command
station and healing chamber, positionable cannons, spy droids, flick missiles,
a speeder bike that deploys from the back, and multiple decals to create different
gunships for your army
. But will even Obi-Wan Kenobi and Plo Koon be enough
to stop the sinister Asajj Ventress and her double Sith lightsabers? Includes
Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon, Asajj Ventress, Commander Cody and Clone Trooper minifigures!
Side troop bay doors open! Open the front side compartment to remove the command
station! The 2 cockpits in front and the 2 on the wings open! Features 8 positionable
flick-fire missiles on top and 2 rotating missiles in front! Back hatch opens
to deploy the speeder bike! Open the compartment on top to access the spy droids!
Measures 14" (36cm) long, 17" (43cm) wide and 7" (18cm) high"

If I were building this for myself I would get an extra pair of 4515's and
apply the extra stickers for easier storage.

Surely its a choice of which stickers to apply to the front section so that you
can have 2 versions with different nose art.

The instructions say 4. But stickers just magically appear and p038 doesn’t
seem to be used.

I’d say you can choose which pair of stickers to apply on the front?

My question to ou guys is how can we document this? And is this something that
you guys see all the time with older LEGO sets?

For now, they are handled with the special Alternate group 99:
— add the Match ID 99 to the Regular parts that change¹ or that you don’t have
in your version,
— add the parts that change¹ or that are only in your version as Alternate with
a Match ID of 99,
— add a note.

(¹ If it’s just the quantity of a part that changes, the part is both present
as Regular and Alternate with different quantities.)

E.g. Wall-E has two versions, the neck having been made more stable

Good afternoon all,

I was rebuilding my 6386 (Police Command Station) set yesterday and to make sure
I had all the pieces I consulted the inventory. While building the model, I realised
that the inventory was not accurate and started double checking everything once
again. To my surprise, I had all the pieces listed on Bricklink but I just couldn't
complete the helicopter.

So I spent another hour trying to figure this out and I finally found out
that my instructions were different!
. For the same set, my instructions were
telling me to use different pieces.

Please see image attached.

My question to ou guys is how can we document this? And is this something that
you guys see all the time with older LEGO sets?

Thanks a lot!

3003old is an odd duck if you ask me. 3002old and 3001old do not have Inside
Supports mentioned in the name but they do exist with Inside Supports (at least
3001old does). 3003 however does not exist without Cross Supports, still they
created a 3003old as if it were somehow similar as 3002old and 3001old but it
is not. I have missed the creation of 3003old so there might be a perfectly valid
reason for it but imo so far it creates more confusion, as can be noted with
your question as example.

On the other hand, it is hardly doable to be complete on this matter. More differences
do exist and differences combinations as well. Where does it end?

Interesting to learn the answer too

If you have the set, why not submit the set's inventory to the Catalogue,
as this will enable you to part it out...?

You see, ALL of the inventories that make up this catalogue have been submitted
by other people, myself included...

Looks like tlm102 (SDCC Angry Kitty) is still awaiting approval. I am planning
on that being a counterpart in the comcon057-1 set. Everything else seems to
have gone through ok, except that one. Just wanted to make sure I'd done
everything right there.

Thanks!

Perfect, thanks for the quick reply! So at this stage, I have:

1. Reserved the set (for inventory)
2. Added all the new parts (pending approval)
3. Added new entries for the minifig/counterpart minifig (tlm101, tlm102, pending
approval)
4. Added photos for parts/minifigs (pending approval)

It seems I can't add the minifigs to set inventory until they've been
approved, so now I just wait? Did I miss any steps? Just want to make sure I'm
going about this in the right way.

Thanks again for everyone's help!

So I'm planning on making a minifig inventory for this set (as well as adding
an additional counterpart for the alternate face, same as comcon040).

As far as minifig names go, since these are the first two released for The Lego
Movie 2, should I either....
a. Continue with the tlm000 numbering system (starting with tlm101), OR
b. Start a new series with tlm2001

Or is there a place where this is already determined?

Thanks!

Sets: The LEGO Movie 2

You can get started with the inventory here:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvAdd.asp

Any new parts may be added here:

https://www.bricklink.com/wantedCatalog.asp

Then add pictures here:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogImageAdd.page

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

All the superheroes from all the Marvel movies and also DC and things not in
an actual movie are all in the same numbering series. I think things from The
Lego Movie 2 can be numbered with 1.

Sounds right. One of the Catmins is in the US and the other in Deutscheland,
so sometimes it is like we have 24/7 coverage, but just remember they've
got lives and jobs and what not. So sometimes nothing happens until after you
go to bed. I just looked at your pending stuff and no problems jump out at me.
Now you just wait for the wheels of the machine to turn.

Since around February of this year we have been informally requiring that all
new inventories (meaning recent sets) be submitted from sealed set contents.
We believe this rule greatly reduces the error rate in inventories. If someone
has a brand new set in hand, then parts, part colors, part variants, and extras
can be more accurately determined.

The only concern was that the requirement would result in a reduction in inventories
being added. Fortunately, this has not occurred. There have been 580 sets released
so far this year and only 73 of those sets don't have inventories on BrickLink
(about 12.5%). We can always do better, but 87.5% of 2018 sets inventoried is
still pretty decent (especially considering what an improvement this is from
the past).

Therefore, we have decided to make this requirement a permanent rule for new
sets going forward. The way it works is this: if the set has been in the BrickLink
catalog less than one year, then the only source accepted for its inventory is
a sealed set. After that, any source is acceptable. You can see the new rule
here under the heading Source:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=199

The only problem with this rule are sets like this:

Set No: 4000025 Name: Inside Tour (LIT) Exclusive 2018 Edition - Ferguson Tractor
*
4000025-1 Inside Tour (LIT) Exclusive 2018 Edition - Ferguson Tractor
2018
Sets: LEGO Brand: LEGO Inside Tour

We may consider listing these sets as exceptions to the rule, but for now they
are covered.

At the end of the day, you don't what you are paying your 3% fee to Bricklink

Day 1. It just isn't part of the deal. And you are still here because there

brings to you.

If you just need to bellyache, that's totally fine with me.

It is because we are not doing well at soliciting community contributions.

Ex:75203 is been out for a month and other site have all inventory done.

The three major sites I'm aware of which provide inventories are Brickset,
Rebrickable, and Brick Owl.

All three sites have inventories for this set. The official part count of the
set is 255 parts. For each site, here are the number of parts they list in the
set as of right now:

Brickset: 248 parts
Brick Owl: 251 parts
Rebrickable: 248 parts

We make take longer on BrickLink, but when we're finished you'll have
an inventory which includes the correct number of parts.

I think with the sales amount that past here,we should expect a little bit of
service.

You're right about that. I apologize that we still haven't achieved
the ability to have complete, accurate inventories available on the day the set
is released. When you require that new inventories be created from sealed set
contents (as we do now) and after that you have people like me double-checking
the work to ensure its accuracy, then there is unavoidable delay. Our goal is
to reduce that delay as much as possible.

I will say that the delay has gotten much better within the last year and we
hope to continue to improve.

Please don't reply its a voluntary work that user are doing the inventory. It
should not be voluntary first of all. This site is doing money. With the number
of set that coming out every month ,i think somebody should be payed and doing
this full time.

I agree that people who take the time to add inventories to the website should
be compensated for their efforts in some way.

I just resign myself to spend a hour to enter and verify that set with brickstock.

I've never used BrickStock, so I don't know how it works.

Admins are not real humans, so they have nothing better to do than work on BL
24/7. Duh!

Being a volunteer inventory admin has to be the worst. Not only are you expected
to give your time for free, but also spend $1000's per year on new sets at
MSRP to do inventories.

Oh, and to the OP: 3% fees is the exact same I paid when I started selling here
in 2003. Please find me another company that you can say the same about. Ebay
was 10% the last time I sold something.

Not sure, 21h13 (9:13pm) in Poland now (in France too), but he might still have
something else to do on a Saturday night

That one is almost complete. One of our actual Inventory Admins did the inventory.
He just lacks entering the extras. But he lives in Poland and is probably in
bed now.

I just resign myself to spend a hour to enter and verify that set with brickstock.

Man. And that's AFTER whatever time it took you to type out this question

Can anybody can clarify why it take soo long for the inventory of a set to be
approve.

For doing sales,we need this inventory to be approve quickly.

Ex:75203 is been out for a month and other site have all inventory done.

I think with the sales amount that past here,we should expect a little bit of
service.

We are paying 3% on every sales and i think we should received a minimum of service.

Please don't reply its a voluntary work that user are doing the inventory. It
should not be voluntary first of all. This site is doing money. With the number

No worries! Thanks for the quick reply. Not breathing down anyone's neck,
just wanted to make sure I was doing everything right.

Have a great weekend!

Perfect, thanks for the quick reply! So at this stage, I have:

1. Reserved the set (for inventory)
2. Added all the new parts (pending approval)
3. Added new entries for the minifig/counterpart minifig (tlm101, tlm102, pending
approval)
4. Added photos for parts/minifigs (pending approval)

It seems I can't add the minifigs to set inventory until they've been
approved, so now I just wait? Did I miss any steps? Just want to make sure I'm
going about this in the right way.

Thanks again for everyone's help!

an additional counterpart for the alternate face, same as comcon040).

As far as minifig names go, since these are the first two released for The Lego
Movie 2, should I either....
a. Continue with the tlm000 numbering system (starting with tlm101), OR
b. Start a new series with tlm2001

Or is there a place where this is already determined?

Thanks!

You can get started with the inventory here:

Any new parts may be added here:

Then add pictures here:

Yes, you can create the inventory here:

However, you must have a brand new set in hand to create the inventory for this
set. Let us know if you run into any difficulties and need assistance.

I still have 3 from this set that need inventories:

Betsy

Mystake

I can see about doing these later this week.

On 5 minifigs I am unable to see the parts because the "item consists of" is
not available.

I don't have this set, so I am unable to complete the inventory. The submitter
of the set inventory did not add inventories for any of the figures - the existing
inventories of the other figures in that set were done by five different people.

There has been some discussion behind the scenes about requiring that minifigure
inventories be completed before the set inventory is approved. However, this
is not currently a requirement.

The best I can tell you is that I will try to look at uninventoried 2018 minifigures
when I get some spare time and see what I can do about adding their inventories.

Hi,
Is there any chance that this set wil be updated?

Not only this one from SW is still missing inventory, also 75220 and 75221.
BTW Sandcrawler was added on the beggining of July, so almost two months without
inventory now

If you want to do it I can release this set to you to inventory it?

Hi
I have no idea how to do it

First thing: that 7-digit number is called a Part Color Code or PCC. These are
unique codes assigned by TLG which identify a particular part in a specific color.

For quite some time I've wondered why the term "PCC" is used on Bricklink,
instead of the LEGO-Company term "element id."

Does anyone know?

PCC describes the code better. The first PCC's were literally a combination
of a 4-digit part code and a 2-digit color code. Some of those original PCC's
are still being used:

3024+02

3024+21

3024+23

3024+24

The new 7-digit codes aren't "smart" like that, but they do represent the
part in a specific color, as opposed to the 5-digit mold number. PCC is easier
to read and type, too.

Also, maybe nobody knew they were called Element IDs by LEGO back in those days.
In that case, BrickLink had to come up with something to call them.

Evening All...

I cam across a particular head piece that is associated with Jack Sparrow that
is only in this item:

Gear No: 853191 Name: Magnet Set, Minifigures PotC (3) - Jack Sparrow, Barbossa, Gunner Zombie - Glued with 2 x 4 Brick Bases blister pack
*
853191 Magnet Set, Minifigures PotC (3) - Jack Sparrow, Barbossa, Gunner Zombie - Glued with 2 x 4 Brick Bases blister pack
Gear: Magnet: Pirates of the Caribbean

It shows no inventories for the figures. Are the figures glued together, or
is it just the brick bases? I might have the other parts for this particular
version of Sparrow, but I'd have to check my "odd ball" bin lol.

As TLG calls PCCs “Element ID”s, the mould number being a “Design ID.”

PCC is more descriptive of the code than "Element ID".

Er, if you say so…

OK great

I've cancelled the original inventory as I couldn't add the newly added
parts from the catalogue, and the newer inventory is now submitted for approval.

The descriptions are adequate I think, but hopefully someone can submit split
images for the yellow 'face' elements, as this will be better than the
ones supplied by LEGO.COM

If this can be approved, it will be great as this means I'll be able to part
out the 2 sets that I have.

Thanks!

Paul

Ok thanks for message, will check it in just a moment

I've also added the correct colour image for the Dark Azure 2x3x2 curved
side brick, as it's a new colour for that part.

Cheers!

Paul

Perfect Checked and approved. Thank you very much for submiting this invenotry.
So maybe you submit more in the future

I have to say, thank you for approving this quickly as those 2 sets had been
bugging me for a while since I bought them to plunder the 2x4 Blue plates!

I think it's possible that I'll be doing more Duplo sets as I've
decided to get out of doing USED duplo as I have loads of vehicle elements that
I can't shift, and with all of the other parts that I have, they are just
taking up so much space that I could use for the normal LEGO elements.

Another reason why I'm getting out of the USED Duplo, is that there are more
and more Chinese Clones turning up at the car boot sales, so it will be really
hard to garner a decent return...

So, it depends upon whether I manage to see NEW Duplo at reduced prices or not.

Thanks, once again for the speedy approval of that set.

Regards,

Paul

All decorated parts have their own entry with the same number as the main part
plus pb and following number in the numbering system of them in Bricklink.
So look at 4198 as an example, you have four new decotared version of this part.
Type in search 4198pb* (with asterisk), sort by "item number" and "down", result:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?pg=1&q=4198pb%2A&catLike=W&itemBrand=1000&v=1
See all decoreted have their own separate entry. So you must now crate whole
new entry for four your parts. Thanks to this searching you see the next free
number will be
4198pb31. So crate 4 parts 4198pb with following numbers 4198pb31, 4198pb32,
4198pb33, 4198pb34, describe them in name - add in name what is their pattern.
You can see also in this search how other are named, you can create somthing
similar. But in name for this part there always must be "Duplo, Brick 2 x 4
x 2 Rounded Ends ... Pattern" for "..." you enter your description of pattern.
Then add photos for such crated parts.
Now repeat this for all your new decorated bricks: 31110, 3011, 98223, 31111.
Create new entries with "pb".

Marek

I actually saw where I went wrong.

I'd listed the images before I'd changed the numbers of the parts, and
this accepted the images which was wrong as the part(s) were already in the catalogue!

I think I've done it correctly now, and all it need is for the naming of
the parts to be tidied up.

I've also added the dimensions of the set, and if the parts can be approved,
I can add them to the inventory.

Regards,

Paul

You must save these images to your computer and then submit them to bricklink
catalog.
when you were making inventory these images are only for help purpose, and are
taken from external LEGO database, so for the missing ones they are not in the
Bricklink database.
Images you can save from LEGO replacment parts service or also from here for
example:
https://brickset.com/inventories/10861-1 (this is your set)
Brickset takes these inventories from the same source.

Why can't the system take copies of those images and match them to the part?

I'm guessing that I'll need to change the part numbers from the LEGO
code to the BrickLink ones?

Yes numbers for the parts must be in bricklink style

  more work....

The are still beeing listed if they are added to the catalog, we don't have
rule that they must be added to the catalog in the same time when the set is
inventoried. They can be added later to the catalog and to the set.

For my own purposes, I have put stickered parts in the comments section of Brickstock
as I verify my inventories, but I liked having them listed as CPs.

If you have stickered parts for these sets maybe you could add them.

"To add the stickered part to the catalog, first submit the part to the catalog
https://www.bricklink.com/wantedCatalog.asp and then upload a picture for the
part https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogImageAdd.page. The picture must
show the sticker correctly applied to the part as it appears in the set instructions.
After the part has been approved and added to the catalog submit an Inventory
Change Request https://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvChange.asp to add the new
part to the inventory as a counterpart"

It doesn't matter how "right" you do it, so don't worry about that too
much. The catalog administrators can fix things like part numbers and titles.
You do need to add images, though.

Having said that, formatting your submissions correctly will greatly speed up
the process of approval. Here's a brief tutorial using one of the parts
you've submitted:

[P=6217957]

First thing: that 7-digit number is called a Part Color Code or PCC. These are
unique codes assigned by TLG which identify a particular part in a specific color.
A part in white, for example may have the PCC 6135522, but the same part in
black has the PCC 6001664. These numbers are not used as item numbers, but are
added as PCCs with a catalog change request after item approval.

To create the correct part number for your pending part, you need to find out
which item number is available. To do that, search for the part number with
an asterisk added. In this case, the part number is 98223, so search for 98223*.
You should see this:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogListOld.asp?searchMethod=searchBoth&q=98223*&itemBrand=1000&catType=&itemYear=&catID=&catLike=W

Then sort your results by Item Number and Down. This will reveal that the most
recently used part number was 98223pb014. Therefore, this pending part will
be numbered 98223pb015 when it is approved.

There is good news, though. You can edit your pending submissions by going to
your My Activity page and looking for pending items. There you can change titles,
categories, part numbers, etc.

Is finding the appropriate item number too much work? Yes. Ideally you should
be able to enter the part number and the system could simply assign the next
patterned number. Ideally there would also be less poverty in the world. We
must work with what we have.

Second thing: all titles should be submitted as you would want to see them in
the catalog. For this pending part it means capitalizing the last three words
(Crossed Arms Pattern).

You've got the weight and dimensions added, so I think that otherwise you're
good on this one once you add an image. The same issues exist with your other
pending submissions, like the title for this part:

[P=6217961]

Like I say, though, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Your submissions
should be approved, it will just take longer because of the extra work which
must go into spiffing them up to be official catalog entries.

Thank you, by the way, for taking the time to inventory this set. Duplo is one
of the neglected themes for which sets can go years without ever seeing an inventory.

Well, how can I submit images when they are already available as I saw when I
first put the set's number into the correct box?

You want to inventory Duplo set yes?
I've see that you submited to the catalog already 8 inventories. Submiting
of inventories isn't change so much from time when you last submited. Now
it is easer than ever.
Submit incomplete inventory it will be pending. I think you using autofill opition.
When you submit inventory of the set and it don't have all parts necessary
in the catalog but they are listed in LEGO inventory, they are marked red, delete
them from the form to go further. Then add the missing parts to the catalog,
after they approval, add them to the inventory which will be pending. After you
complete inventory and will be OK, We will approve it Then this set will
be available to part out.
I checked you credits and I see you also submited parts and photos to the catalog
so you should be familiar with the process.

regards,

Marek

I understand how the process works, but I'm always struggled with being able
to create suitable images of the 'missing' parts that need to be added
to the catalogue, which is why I was asking if the process can/had been made
simpler as the information is available already.

Look here, there is no problem to supply Lego photos from their database for
decorated Duplo bricks. See how many this year were added only with official
Lego photo and not original submiter's photo:

I personally think that

Set No: 9498 Name: Saesee Tiin's Jedi Starfighter
*
9498-1 (Inv) Saesee Tiin's Jedi Starfighter
232 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 2012
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars The Clone Wars
has a better design.

It also has an inventory that you can use.

Cheers,

Thanks for the explanation.

So yes, the notes and Alternate Parts section does have the alternate parts,
but these aren't just alternate parts. This is a complete change in inventory
count. There should be at a minimum a notation in the main entry itself ...
and possibly a 10214-2 catalog entry entirely so that the part counts match.

How does one go about requesting such a change?

The catalog entry here shows 4287. Yet, there is no supplemental information

If anything, the box art WITHOUT the tree in the corner, but instead showing

Is the catalog entry here not up to date?

Take a look at the note at the foot of the inventory:

Can anyone tell me what's wrong? The system rejects my form by saying that
there's a problem with entry 4 ("Entry #4: New Match ID is same as Existing
Match ID."). But the item has no match ID yet, and the match ID I entered is
not in use yet. Is it because extras can't have match IDs?

/Jan

Check this inventory how it is constructed
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=79118-1

Set No: 79118 Name: Karai Bike Escape
*
79118-1 (Inv) Karai Bike Escape
80 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 2014
Sets: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Extras can have match ID but it must be new number. and in this form you have
"3" match ID three times.
As you can see one sword w regular is conected with unique ID with altenate for
him. Extra one must have new unique ID and second alternate must be added to
match extra I hope I explained it clearly

More simply speaking if you want do add alternate for an extra then part must
be repeated in alternate section with new ID. One connected with regular and
one connected with extra. This is currently the only way to do it.

I don't understand why you state that I used match ID 3 three times. It's
only there twice in my form.

It seems to me that you're explaining exactly what I've done. I used
match ID 2 twice (one in the regular section, one in the alternate) and match
ID 3 twice (one in the extra section, one in the alternate).

/Jan

In my opinion there is definitly a bug in inv change request formula. You can't
add match ID to extra when this is the only change for it, but when I also change
it from extra to regular (see the first screenshot), everything went well (see
second screenshoot). So I tested my hypothesis on second extra to change (there
was change in part quantity). So I added only "4" as matching ID and see the
result on third and fourth screenshoot, the same error. So it looks like you
can't add match ID when part stays extra it must be changed from extra to
regular simultaneously.
But we can moved it back to the extra section after approving your request.
So this is the soultion for you for now. Add this change request with changing
this part also extra to regular and when approving it we will move it where it
belongs

BTW I remember that recently I had the same situation when adding my own change
request for something, the same problem, but I didn't took care much because
I could fix it after approving.

Originally I believe match IDs on extras were not allowed, and only recently
has this become the practice, and only in cases where the Inv Admin determines
to handle the problem in that way.

However, this is by far the trickiest form on the site and I have a request in
to remove the logic that gives error messages for duplicated data. It would be
far better if the system just ignored such data.

The ironic thing is that the form actually *requires* duplicated data with the
Item Type field. There is no need for this field as the Item Type can always
be determined from the Item Number. A request has been submitted to remove this
obstacle as well.

I've founded. I had the same problem as you with this change request:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1099942
so changed extra to regular (last line of change)
and then fix it after approving.

In the recent production runs,

Part No: 4854 Name: Slope, Inverted 45 4 x 4 Double
*
4854 Slope, Inverted 45 4 x 4 Double
Parts: Slope, Inverted
has been replaced with

Part No: 72454 Name: Slope, Inverted 45 4 x 4 Double with 2 Holes
*
72454 Slope, Inverted 45 4 x 4 Double with 2 Holes
Parts: Slope, Inverted
which have holes.
So TLG added 8x White

Part No: 3020 Name: Plate 2 x 4
*
3020 Plate 2 x 4
Parts: Plate
so that you don’t see the coloured parts inside the towers through the holes.

And 4287 + 8 = 4295.

The match ID for the alternate model is 99.

Funnily, with these 2x4 plates, there are Medium Blue 1x2 plates that are not
useful anymore but that are still included.

Funny you mention this. I was building an alternate build of 10214 in the Modular
style and they kept calling for white 2x4 plates and I did not have them. Now
I know why as I've had a couple spare 10214's for ages. Thanks.

Yes you have right, sorry, I'm tired today so all these 2 and 3 just blurred
and I didn't notice
I'm now checking your problem and I thik that just in a few minuts have a
solution for you. I think there is a bug and you can't change Extras Match
ID by this form when you don't change anything else in this line.
