set. The two parts are
"45677pb001 Wedge 4 x 4 x 2/3 Triple Curved with Fire Logo Badge and 2 White
Chevrons Pattern (Sticker)"
and
"52031pb003 Wedge 4 x 6 x 2/3 Triple Curved with Fire Logo Badge and 2 White
Chevrons Pattern (Sticker)"

They are both currently showing as counterparts for set 7945 Fire Station. They
are identical to the two same pieces in the set 7208 Fire Station.

Can someone request for these to be added, or let me know how to do it?
Thanks

You mange to do it quite right

You may add them using an inventory change request:

Yes, it can be fixed. But first we'll need to know what's wrong.

I'm so sorry. I was wrong. I searched the instructions many times and couldnt
find them. Someone just pointed out that they are part of the canons.

Why do you think that's wrong?

It has 4 cannons, and 16 wheels for those 4 cannons. I recently built it myself,
and that was correct for my instructions.

Today I have issued an add item request for this hinge without hole, as 3149ac01.
If it is accepted I will add an inventory too, with black pivot. The later version,
3149c01, has a hole in the plates to accommodate a string for crane sets. The
first being 337-2 from 1969.

In Catalog Inventories, SezaR writes:
I have three variations of these hinges. They all a hole, but the first two variations
have a smaller hole between the two studs on the first row. See my photo attached.

Do you have another variation coming with a black pivot but without that hole?

  Hi,

How to add an Alternate part to a Part Inventory?

The help text speaks about a Match ID which has to be filled in, but the form
does not have such a field at all.

I would like to add a Black Pivot to the inventory of 3149c01 as alternate for
the Red one.

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvChangeAdd.asp
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=215#submitReq

Looks as if it is not possible to add Alternates?

Part No: 3149c01 Name: Hinge Plate 2 x 4
*
3149c01 (Inv) Hinge Plate 2 x 4
Parts: Hinge
Alternates are not possible for parts and minifigures.

To do this correctly we need a new part entry, one that has a black pin. I rejected
an entry for one last year because the change to black pin seemed to be very
late and didn't look significant so I just added a note. But if it is important
to you to have black shown as a known color, then submit an entry and I'll
get it approved.

It seems not that important, only because of the Pivot. There aren't much
of these hinges with Black Pivot and I have no knowledge in which sets they occured
so it wouldn't add significant information.

The first of these hinges however had no hole in the plates, and black pivot.
Two differences thus. This might be interesting enough for a new entry. I'll
issue a request for this hinge.

Also. Changing the Note on 3149c01 would be appreciated though. It is wrong.
See my other message earlier.

FYI: the set hasn't been released in North America yet, so that eliminates
a good portion of members that do inventories.

Mainly mismanagement and overproduction..... Most of our stock came from that
era due to Lego and retail store blowouts. Lego 'used' to regularly have
S@H specials at 50% off.....
Man, do I miss those days

Inventory Item IDs are unique numbers assigned to each item changed or added
in an inventory. The most recent IIID was 854380 (as of this moment), meaning
854,380 inventory actions have occurred during BrickLink's history.

IIIDs can be seen on the left-hand side of any inventory. I have mine set to
show by default, but there's a link at the bottom of each inventory page
where they can be turned on for an individual inventory. These IDs can make
change requests for inventories quicker and easier if used properly.

So what was the very first BrickLink inventory? This somber fellow, on January
22nd, 2003:

Minifig No: gen001 Name: Skeleton - Standard Skull, Floppy Arms
*
gen001 (Inv) Skeleton - Standard Skull, Floppy Arms
Minifigures: Castle

The IIIDs for this figure are 1, 2, 3, and 4 (photo attached) and the first part
ever added to any inventory was the skeleton torso.

Parts assemblies can't have alternate parts in their inventories, only sets
can. So if you want to add to this part assembly with black povot you must add
completly new parts assembly to the catalog - 3149c02

Hi,

A note on the following part:

Part No: 3149c01 Name: Hinge Plate 2 x 4
*
3149c01 (Inv) Hinge Plate 2 x 4
Parts: Hinge

The inventory has the following Note:
Later versions of this part had a black pivot.

However IMO this is incorrect, it's the earlier (!) versions of this part
that had a black pivot.

I have seen many of these hinges, and only the early versions of this hinge had
black pivots, all later versions have red pivot.

I don't know how to change the Note on this item, so maybe one of the Cat
Admins wants to change it? Thank you! Or tell me how to do it

Best regards,
Arnoud van den Bos

I have acquired this set with stickers already applied on the parts for most
of them. There are no counterparts listed for them. Would you like photos or
can you provide the counterpart listings?

You may submit the counterparts to the catalog here:

https://www.bricklink.com/wantedCatalog.asp

Once you've submitted them, please upload photos here:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogImageAdd.page

Once the parts have been added to the catalog, please add them to the set inventory
using this form:

I'm not sure. The inventory is pending approval, so you should have the
ability to add items to it. Try going here:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogAdd.asp?utm_content=subnav

Click on your inventories pending approval and then on the "Edit Inv" button.
You should be able to edit from there. Let me know if it's still not working
for you.

has a blue strip on the top of the keypad.

Plese submit it to the catalog.

It is disappointing because I am on a quest to find undetermined pieces. I buy
sets on purpose because the inventory says there are undetermined pieces in there.
But there are never any undetermined pieces in the box.

Isn't that the definition of "undetermined" in our catalog? It might be any
of two (or more) known versions of a part, but we do not know yet which are linked
to this specific inventory.

He is being facetious.

Randy

I guess I am feeling too sick to make sense of that today
Thanks.

I haven't done one of these, but my take on it is that I see little need
to distinguish these frosted/non-frosted variations. Clikits was never that
popular and I believe these parts only came in Clikits sets, so little would
be lost if the A and B part versions were all merged.

If I remember correctly, for at least one of the parts a different color was
used for the frosted- and non-frosted versions. Since BrickLink does not differentiate
between these two LEGO colors, the part version is the only way to distinguish
these in our inventories.

I agree that these parts are unpopular, but I do not feel comfortable saying
that there is not much lost if both versions were all merged.

111 Parts, 2 Gear, 2003
Sets: Clikits
here and I'm trying to verify and repair the inventory
and I have a question for someone who has done one of these. The inventory said
I would find a lot of undetermined pieces and once again I have been disappointed.
But I have found that several of the lots are mixed between the frosted and
polished versions. Should I say the set has 5 polished versions and 2 frosted
versions like someone carefully made it this way or should I say there are 7
polished ones with 7 frosted ones as an alternate?

I have added the two different versions of those Clikits parts to the catalog.
When the set inventories were made our catalog did not distinguish between those.

I would propose to simply update the inventory to what you find, replacing the
undetermined version with the two versions where needed. (I do not see why this
is disappointing, it is just the way the set was made). If anyone later finds
different quantities then those could always be included as alternatives.

Tell you what: just submit requests to correct whatever is wrong with this one
set and we'll discuss Clikits inventories and how they should look once you
submit the requests.

For now, since you don't have more than one copy of the same set, please
submit A as regular and the same quantity of B as alternate for parts that are
mixed. The photo is an example only using one of the undetermined parts from
that set.

For parts which are all the same, then yes, just submit changes as normal.

Most likely I'm not going to do that. I got a good deal on 1 and I will copy
down what I found and if they sell better than I expect them to, I might get
more, but this is likely my only step into Clikits, at least until my daughters
are older. So I will just leave the inventory alone if you wish.

However, on several of the lots I got all polished or all frosted. Should I
correct those?

Yes. And also yes, inventory was from a sealed set. I believe I parted it out,
but if I find the parts around intact I'll check.

Strictly speaking, though, yes. If the frosted/non-frosted variants are mixed
in sets, then the complete total for each part should be listed in the regular
section (meaning 7 for either the A or B variant) and the alternate section (7
for whatever the other variant is).

Let me correct that a bit. To be completely accurate, you should open several
new sets (say 5 of them) and check to see if the assortment of frosted/polished
parts varies. If it does, then my answer above is correct.

If the inclusion of frosted/polished parts is consistent across all the sets,
however, then the inventory would not have alternates. Instead, it would show
(as in your example) 5 polished and 2 frosted of the same part.

If your sealed set and Maggie's showed different quantities of frosted/polished
parts, then alternates is the way to go. However, we cannot know what Maggie's
set showed since the part listings weren't split until just 4 years ago.

Going back to my first point, I don't really want to fill up the Clikits
inventories with alternates. Maggie originally inventoried the set and, although
there is no source listed, I imagine it would have been sealed set contents.

Strictly speaking, though, yes. If the frosted/non-frosted variants are mixed
