Your splash page. I did a view source from the browser, cleaned up the BL messy
spacing, and ran a validation check on it. I can send you the code grab if you
want.

But the [a name] thing would apply to everyone.

Okay - if you can send it great.

More checking done now. W10 machine checked chrome, ie11 and edge. IE 11 works
chrome and edge do not. That's all we got to check.

I know we don't ship to a number of countries - had problems with The mail
services so to save further issues, we stopped shipping to them. That may change
but not at the moment.

I also managed to check it on firefox, first with a draft of my own and then
yours again, same problem as with chrome. Also, you don't ship to all
countries worldwide.

Really thank you to all who checked for me I thought I was going mad since everything
works fine on the terms pages (except for the dead links my ill advised tinkering
left grrr)

splash pages and none with menu items on the splash pages actually work; for

referenced by an anchor, it does cause the page to reload (as can be seen on
the back button history), but does not actually navigate on the page.

As anchors do work on the terms pages, is there something else I should change
for it to work on the splash page, or has it been removed (which would be strange
as there are still members using those on the splash pages)? I'm using Chrome.

Ours still wprk

Thanks for checking, but alas no, yours exhibit the same strange behaviour. Jut
scroll down your splash page and when you get to pricing policies, click on the
"Back to top" link there - there is no navigation back to the top or anywhere
else on the page for that matter. I just cannot get this to work, same goes for
item on your menu sidebar. See my images below.

For clarity, the before click image is exactly as it appears when I've scrolled
down. Note the back button contents.
The after click image is after clicking on the "back to top" link; the page stays
exactly the same with no navigation to where you would expect it to go, except
for the back button history, which changes.

Hi jean - sorry about the delay in getting back to you - was out collecting the
weeks haul of Lego.

At home on my desktop which is running window 7 and IE 11 it all works fine.
On my android phone the changes to the shipping cost pages work but the return
to top etc do not. That is the first time I have noticed that. It certainly worked
in the beginning after our web guy knocked up the code. Somethin, as is always
the case, has changed and I cannot be sure when. The menu entirey linkg from
the right hand side menu also work fine.

Third thread in a few days about people not liking offsite payments. Seems it's

Obviously there WAS something wrong, otherwise BrickLink wouldn’t have sent me
an email that he was terminated.

I believe you are misunderstanding what has happened. There was something wrong
with the buyer not the payment method. I am sure if you ask Bricklink nicely
they will confirm that. I repeat there is absolutely nothing wrong with offsite
payments whatsoever - over 7000 processed in nearly 9 years and not 1 problem.

Agreed.
Cannot change or add countries or shipping zones in existing shipping methods.

It's not possible to change if there are open orders with that shipping method.

Yep, but... it does not work anyway - I have a test method currently disabled
with no open orders for more than 6 months. I can also tell you that no pop-ups
work on my browser - even those on the forum message page for macro tags and
emoticons (those did work 2 days ago).

  Cannot add new shipping methods.

Can only adjust the rate and the weights for existing methods. You can also disable
shipping methods so disable those shipping methods for instant checkout for the
time being and issue manual invoices for country and zone changes. If you cannot
work around that, you will have to wait for the help desk. I've sent a request.

With the goings on today it appears there has been some tinkering going on. Please
test these things before you roll them out - using the members to test it for
you only leads to frustration and annoyance.

very poor IMO for Bl to do that to us guys.

Is it really necessary for Bricklink to advertise the Bricklink website when
I'm already on the Bricklink website? SUPER FREAKING ANNOYING!!!!! I'm
on this website like 10 hours a day, I don't need to join the mailing list.

Yes you do - to get rid of the popup

Haven't had it so far, fingers crossed..

Doesn't seem the best way to handle a privacy/marketing situation. Why not
just put a box in preferences to say yes or no to the mailing list and point
that out with an announcement. Who actually dreams these things up?

We feel really isolated - we haven't seen one of these popups since coming
on board at about 7 am. Are you guys all logged in? Do you have pop-ups blocked
in your browser? We don't want the message but it seems silly that some are
seeing it and others are not.

We do not use Paypal onsite due to its address validation procedures.

Sorry, what do you mean? what would be the issue with PayPal onsite?

Paypal onsite requires the Bricklink address and Paypal address to match. We
have multiple paypal addresses (all verified, and when placing orders we do not
normally choose our Bricklink address (that is a verified address but it is our
storage centre not our offices and most of our orders placed need to go to our
offices. If you use Paypal offsite this is not a problem but onsite works differently.
And yes we know we can key in a temporary address at checkout - but we would
have to do that on every order as we do not wish to change our Bricklink address
away from our centre. So for us, Paypal onsite is a non-starter.

This was reported as a problem when the feature was introduced, but unfortunately
never dealt with.

Hope that clarifies the issue. For lots of people Onsite never runs into this
problem but in our case it is an issue.

When paying by Paypal on any other site we always get the ability to change addresses
at the Paypal screen, which you do not using Onsite from here.

Wow. that is an extensive database. thanks for sharing the screenshots. That

I use Brickstock to manage inventory and pricing. I can easily adjust pricing
in Brickstock and upload the changes to Bricklink easily.

When processing a new batch for sale, I can start a new inventory or Part
Outs sets using Brickstock. It is super easy. But it doesn't do everything,
nor does it interface with every field provided by Bricklick (like the Cost field).

I do a monthly download from Bricklink of my sales in Excel format.
https://www.bricklink.com/orderExcel.asp?orderType=received

I then put that data into an Excel spreadsheet. Through a series of data calculations,
I figure out my sales total, bricklink fees, PayPal fees and finally net profit.
It's very manual.

Sounds good - we have tried to move as far away as possible from 'manual'
and have automated as much as we can at present without getting a programmer
involved. We, like many others, had hoped by now Bricklink would have been offering
something to help the sellers, after all we are a business , just like them,
but alas that hasn't happened.

We get all our stats from our system as well as P&L statements at the end of
each period. Our cost field is a very important field and unlike both Bricklink
and Brickstock we use it heavily. We know the cost we paid for each set and can
work out individual cost prices or just look at the totals. Our inventory is
held at cost so our accountants are happy with our methodology for that. As for
the used Lego which we buy in bulk - we know the weight and how much it cost
for the lot so we can easily keep track of the 'profitability' of each
lot we buy.

It could be easier, of course but we are comfortable with it as it is.

I am all for automation as well. It's sad to see every sell has to reinvent
the wheel and build a process with a couple different tools if they want to automate
the business.

Btw, does your process only apply to Bricklink business, or others too (like
brickowl, eBay, etc)?

only bricklink at present as we only sell here

Yes please, if you can - we are in the process of parting out several of them

It's very manual.

I always send out my invoices through my own software. So that I don't have
to extrapolate things afterwards by taking data from Bricklink. Everything is
directly rooted in my own system. That way I can easily see all of those components
at any moment, and generate all data I need for my tax reports. It also keeps
stats on lots and items, but I've never used it for analysis. Maybe I could
also parse part data like colour and category from the descriptions (though Bricklink
is horribly inconsistent with describing parts in the invoice). I could dive
into that sometime, since by now I have 5 years worth of data.

Although we use Bricklink's invoice (Modified, of course) it is only to ensure
there is a proper record of that in the order audit trail. Our invoicing takes
place via our system and colour and condition are held separately to description
, as you say Bricklink, whilst getting better, is still a long way off being
consistent. Using our internal system colour and condition are analysis heads
for whatever we want to look at. We can take reports off by colour, by part or
condition or any combination of those . So if I want to know how many Black New
2 x 4 bricks I have sold and at what price over what period I just use those
parameters in y report parameter screen.

This, to be honest is what I mean when I say Bricklink could do so much more
than what they do - this is a SQL database - it is driven by queries for forms
for reports for just about everything.

Most modern day accounting systems could take care of the back end processing
that the site does - the catalogue is priceless but it could be so much more
useful than it already is. Stop tinkering around the edges with things that people
have not asked for and add the things that we have been asking for since 2013
when you took on responsibility for the site. It isn't rocket science. E
