So what you´re saying is that ordinary Bricklinkers shouldn´t bother and higtlight
a thing like this?
|
No, they are saying that there is already a system in place to catch errors in
Pending Items. I could go through the Approval Log right now and find 100 things
to correct, but I am not the submitter, so I have no access. Posting every one
of them here would be an ineffective use of the system.
The job of ordinary BrickLinkers is to submit reports for anything that does
get through.

I thought this was an option implemented years ago.

I had a vague recollection of it as well. But, I went looking for the setting
and didn't find it. I personally never wanted the Submit Changes button at
the top as it took up too much space. As long as hitting Enter still works, I
am all good.

When done picking, it should be super easy to count. If the final total items
picked matches the total order items, then odds are the order was picked correctly.
It's the most useful selling tip I've encountered.
This has been shared in the forum before (which is how I first learned it), but
I thought it's worthwhile to bring it up again because I see forum complaints
often like "over half of my orders on BL are wrong missing pieces"...
etc...
This usefulness will also vary depending on the types of orders you get as a
seller.
MOST of mine are all small items and less than 100pcs so this method is pretty
easy. It works for larger orders too, just need more space/larger groups or a
mix of both.
It still saves me from a short pick here and there and since using it, my error
rate has gone down considerably.
|
I count into groups of 5 too. I also have a checked cloth on my sorting table.
I spread out 5 of whatever into each square and it's super easy to count.

e-mailed them, I had no response. I wasn't to worried it happens (right)
but I started wondering and did worry I was afraid someone was trying to get
into my store or something, so I deleted his message (no to sure what good that
would do) But then I received a order from the same person a few days after buying
2 items that had no bearing the the photo requested previously. Ok I thought
and invoiced the order. Still no response or payment😬 I waited 4 days feeling
very uncomfortable and cancelled the order. I haven't heard anything back!
So I am wondering what you long time, smart, BL sellers think about it
|
Sorry that all the hacking issues have caused you worry!
It sounds like someone was looking at items in your shop, wanted to confirm the
condition of an expensive item, decided not to buy it, but checked out with some
other items. And you've cancelled on them after a fairly short time.
What makes you so nervous? All of this sounds very innocuous. The only info that
you have given them is your email and BrickLink address which are always public-facing
once any order is placed.

|
Well, I still like seeing the Price Guide but I agree that the whole point
of having an option for listing Incomplete sets is so we can, you know, list
sets that are missing pieces. Some, most, a majority, very many, a percentage...
are a whole bunch of subjective descriptors. Without well-published and easy-to-find
AND understand guidelines and no efficient method for enforcement, BrickLink
needs to let this go.
I understand their intentions for telling us to use the Custom Item listing,
but it's just not reasonable or practical.
On a personal note, I think being able to shop for sets sold without minifigs
or accessories is convenient and a good way to get parts at a relative discount.
I used to buy these listings and part them out for a decent profit.

Listing incomplete sets
Let's talk about incomplete listings! Our Item Condition policy only allows
certain parts of a set to be missing, such as instructions or original packaging,
to qualify it as Incomplete.
When you list sets that are missing minifigures or just the minifigures from
a set, they should not be listed as an incomplete set. They are qualified as
'Custom items'. The process for listing them is the same, except that
you should check the 'Custom item' check box, as shown below.
Listing items as 'Custom' not only helps buyers in their search for specific
items, but it also helps keep our price guide more precise for sellers.
|
Umm... okay. So... they are going to go through BL and remove every set that
is missing minifigs and accessories? Do they have ANY idea how many that is?
Do they have any idea that this is a very common practice on BrickLink for as
long as any of us have known it?

LEGO folds many instructions so you can't knock them for the crease. Check
an 'unboxing' video on youtube to check how your instructions were originally
packaged.
However, these are damaged and should have been sold as such. Get a refund from
your seller. Consider it a service to other buyers. as maybe this seller will
learn and stop listing stuff like this without comments. There's a difference
between Used: "It's been flipped through before and stacked somewhere."
and Used: "It's been handled by a child and crinkled at the bottom of
a toy bin."

Agreed! There is definitely a major disconnect between them saying: We are all

It would be far more helpful to the admin for you to list the page number in

states set of origin' doesn't really mean anything.
It's nice that you are tracking down all these counterparts!

These are tricky! According to online: "Arishem is a being made of pure cosmic

| I use the "Part Out" feature to create a wanted list with every part
in a set, then go through my collection and "find" all the parts until
I have enough to build it.
But the Counterparts (items with stickers or images on them already) never get
included in the list. So I have to go to the Bricklist set Inventory and add
them 1 by 1.
There is a tickbox in "part out" for "Extra parts" but not "Counterparts".
Often these parts have the same Part Number as the inventory but with a suffix
"pb001" or similar.
Is it possible to do what I'm wanting?
|
No, there is no way to add Counterparts from a part out. There is no system to
link them to the parts in the Regular inventory and therefore no way to ensure
you don't add duplicate items.
BrickLink should add a separate feature for this specific process. But that would
require new programming... it's not likely.
I would bet it can be done with Brickstore? Perhaps an experienced user can weigh
in.

This is way to weak with very short range.
These have some velocity but still don't have a lot of kinetic energy.
I never knew about this until this weekend, but I saw some knockoffs with a rubber
