Set No: 3514 Name: Rhino and Lion
*
3514-1 (Inv) Rhino and Lion
29 Parts, 2003
Sets: Explore: Explore Imagination: DUPLO: Basic Set

* Delete 1 Part 4419c01 Orange Duplo, Brick 2 x 2 with Curved Top and Hole Connector with Rope Long
* Add 1 Part 4419c02 Orange Duplo, Brick 2 x 2 with Curved Top and Hole Connector with Rope Short
* Delete 1 Part 4419c01 Purple Duplo, Brick 2 x 2 with Curved Top and Hole Connector with Rope Long
* Add 1 Part 4419c02 Purple Duplo, Brick 2 x 2 with Curved Top and Hole Connector with Rope Short

Just for the record - there is a mistake in the parts list on the side of the
box. The 2 parts that look like an alternate print of this:

Part No: 3437pb026 Name: Duplo, Brick 2 x 2 with Rhino's Foot Pattern
*
3437pb026 Duplo, Brick 2 x 2 with Rhino's Foot Pattern
Parts: DUPLO, Brick, Decorated
should be 2 of this:

Part No: 3437pb009 Name: Duplo, Brick 2 x 2 with 4 Violet Pointed Ovals Pattern
*
3437pb009 Duplo, Brick 2 x 2 with 4 Violet Pointed Ovals Pattern
Parts: DUPLO, Brick, Decorated

Type 2 hasn’t been seen in a set since 2016.
And it’s only in one set from 2016 where Type 3 is an alternate.

So I would rule out finding Type 2 on PaB.  That’ll be Type 3.

Should they be variants?

They already are (with Type 1):

Awe man, sorry. Been running a high fever all day.

Pick-a-Brick only has two train Buffer Beams; No.1 and No.2. (I don't think
we're allowed to post links to that site so just go there and type in "Train
buffer beam" They have 6172142/29082, but BL only shows a result when you
search 6172142 and sends you to this

Part No: 64415c01 Name: Train Buffer Beam with Sealed Magnets and Plow
*
64415c01 Train Buffer Beam with Sealed Magnets and Plow
Parts: Train {Black}
. It appears that is correct
since it has the Pilot at the bottom.

PaB then has a Train Buffer Beam No.2 with the ID(s) 6172149/29084 which both
send you to

Part No: 29085c01 Name: Train Buffer Beam with Sealed Magnets - Type 3 (flat closed bottom)
*
29085c01 Train Buffer Beam with Sealed Magnets - Type 3 (flat closed bottom)
Parts: Train {Black}
which lists it as "type 3"

But when you do a search for Train Buffer Beam - Type 2 on Bricklink you finally
find:

Part No: 91968c01 Name: Train Buffer Beam with Sealed Magnets - Type 2 (flat open bottom)
*
91968c01 Train Buffer Beam with Sealed Magnets - Type 2 (flat open bottom)
Parts: Train {Black}
Which isn't on PaB.

Since there isn't a 3D option for the part on PaB, you can't see the
bottom to know if it's the open or closed version.

So; A: does anyone know if the PaB one is the "closed bottom" and B:
Do the "type 2" and "type 3" on BL need to be swapped to align
with what's on (or not on) PaB?

Sincerely-

Confused in Cincinnati

1 video on youtube for set 75956 seems to show the other leg version however on closer inspection it is a used set being built not a new set. i looked at multiple videos for each set to confirm and for the books since its the actual product shown and not an image i looked for images of those (since there aren't really unboxing videos on them but the few I could find show the same version such as https://youtu.be/_2lA0BgE-cM?t=158 )

Yes, simpler than gluing straight rails

Hi

Smart! Thank you.

I think you guys are correct. On closer inspection it does seem as if someone
cut this piece into several other pieces. Thank you!
