Part out a Set into My Inventory

Buying a set and then selling the parts from that set is known as parting out a set. Parting out sets is possible using BrickLink’s set inventories, which contain information on the minifigures and parts included in a set. Our part-out feature allows sellers to part out one or more copies of a set on the Part out a Set into My Inventory page. Sets must have a BrickLink inventory before they can be parted out.
Part Out a Set
Enter the set number. Other options on the page, such as those explained below, are optional:

  • Quantity of Sets – This is the total number of sets you are parting out. Our system will automatically include all part quantities in each set.
  • Break this Set into – Selecting whole minifigures will return all parts in that set plus whole minifigures. Selecting minifigure parts will remove whole minifigures and add the minifigure parts to the set parts. If the minifigures are not yet inventoried, they will remain whole.
  • Break Sets in Set – Selecting this option will return all parts and minifigures in all sets this set contains (if there are any). Unselecting this option will return all sets contained within this set.
  • Default Prices to – This drop-down menu will pre-fill the price box from the Price Guide or current store inventory. If Price Guide is selected and the information is not available, then the price box for that item will be empty.

Next, click the Submit for Edit button. You will be taken to an edit screen showing all parts and minifigures in that set. After you have edited all items as necessary, click on the Verify Items button and your items will be taken into a verification screen. Items will be added to your store inventory when you click the Upload Items button.
Undo a Part Out
If you part out the wrong set into your inventory or wanted list and wish to undo it, you can part out a negative quantity of the same set into your inventory. This will remove the items in that set from your inventory or decrease quantities of items from that set in your inventory if the items were consolidated into existing items in your inventory in the original part out.
