Item For Sale Tiered Pricing

Tiered pricing allows sellers to offer their items at different prices depending on the quantity that a buyer purchases. For example, a seller may sell a part at 10 cents if the buyer only buys one, but would sell it at 8 cents if the buyer buys 100 or more. You (the seller) can specify for every item in your inventory the quantity and price break for every level of the discount (up to 3 levels).
Example #1:
Quantity: 1,000
Price Each: $0.10
If the buyer buys quantity 100 or more, price is $0.09 each
If the buyer buys quantity 250 or more, price is $0.08 each
If the buyer buys quantity 500 or more, price is $0.07 each

In this example the seller is using all 3 tiered pricing levels.

Example #2:
Quantity: 2
Price Each: $100.00
If the buyer buys quantity 2 or more, price is $75.00 each

In this example the seller is using only 1 tiered pricing level.
This example is equivalent to "Buy 2, get the second at 50% off".

Sale:
If the seller puts an item on sale that has tiered pricing on it, the additional discount prices will also be put on sale so an item that looks like this:

Quantity: 1,000
Price Each: $0.10
If the buyer buys quantity 100 or more, price is $0.09 each
If the buyer buys quantity 250 or more, price is $0.08 each
If the buyer buys quantity 500 or more, price is $0.07 each

will look like this after the seller puts this item on a 50% off sale:

Quantity: 1,000
Price Each: $0.05
If the buyer buys quantity 100 or more, price is $0.045 each
If the buyer buys quantity 250 or more, price is $0.04 each
If the buyer buys quantity 500 or more, price is $0.035 each

Constraints:
There are several restrictions on what you can enter in these fields:
  • All prices and quantities must be greater than 0
  • The tier price (on all 3 levels) must be less than the price of the item
  • Quantity of tier #3 must be more than quantity of tier #2 and quantity of tier #2 must be more than tier #1 - this is done this way so that the further discounts are at larger purchases.
  • Price of tier #3 must be less than price of tier #2 and price of tier #2 must be less than price of tier #1 - this is done this way so that when the buyer orders larger quantity, there is a discount for it.
Removing Tiered Pricing:
Enter 0 in all of the Tiered quantity and price boxes on your inventory detail screen to remove the discount(s).
Setting Tiered Pricing on Inventory Summary Screen:
On your My Inventory summary screen, you have an option to set tiered pricing for all items in your inventory or only those items you specify depending on the criteria you select. There are a few differences when updating your tiered pricing here as opposed to other places on the site as described below:
  • You select the percentage off the base price (not after sale price) of each item instead of setting the price directly for your tier prices. The tier price that is set on each item is also the base tier price which is further reduced if you have a sale set on that item.
  • All tier prices (#1, #2 and #3) are always updated whenever you update your tiered prices through your inventory summary screen. If you don't specify tiered pricing #2 or #3 then #2 or #3 tier prices are removed.
  • Setting tier prices through your inventory summary screen will overwrite existing tiered pricing for those items that have tiered pricing already set.
