I have no idea if this special set came out in 1987. My box says (C) 1988. (so not like in other box updates that the (c) has multiple years). Also, the normal regular update version has the same, just the (c) 1988. Both the 1st regular version (small box) and the 2nd version (larger box) as well as this special promo always have the same barcode - EAN: 5702010965236.
