My name is Kyle. I am 37 years old, and I am in the United States Marine Corps. Most of my life I have been associated with Lego, but there were a few dark age years that I went through. Mostly because of military training, and having to move 5 times in 3 years. My first set ever was the Basic set #730 that I got as a gift when I was about 5. After that, I couldn't stop there. I mainly had to get new sets at Christmas or my birthday as I didn't have a job in elementary school. Then high school came, and I finally had my own money. I started collecting all of the Space themed sets that I could, and currently have about 95% of all space sets. After High school, I was able to keep jobs and I shifted my collecting to the Star Wars theme through college, which I also have about 99% completed. After my dark ages, I got into collecting retired sets from the 80's and early 90's. Basically, I am trying to collect all of the sets that I missed out on getting as a child. Up until late 2006 I did all of my Lego purchasing either in stores or on Ebay. However, I eventually found BrickLink, and I have not looked back since. Due to my lifelong collecting, between 2011 and 2017, I was officially the world's largest Lego collector when I received the Guinness World Record for most Interlocking Plastic Brick Sets owned by an individual. While I have modified my collection since then, I still have a very wide collection of sets that I build regularly to bring back young memories.
