| Hello all. I've been trying to figure out the best way to list my collection.
I have everything in parts organization but still have the manuals and stuff
to put together for those sets that are more valuable than their parts alone.
Is there some place I can go that can help me determine how I should list what
I have? I am guessing that the number of sets that are more valuable than their
parts are very limited...
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Just looking to go into the right direction

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp
set condition to used and then see. tho parts can be worth more and some will
sell faster then complete sets it will take a lot more work and lots more time
if you want to sell it all so if your looking for significantly less work then
selling as complete sets is the route to go.

I don't mind taking the extra time and work. I just don't want to be
in a situation where I sell something for a fraction of it's value only to
find later it would have sold for more in the other way.

Nearly every used set is less valuable than the sum of its parts. However, if
it sells, then the set sells in one go. Whereas some parts can take ages to sell,
if at all. Even though the listing value of parts may look good, don't assume
they will all sell.

Thanks for the advice. I guess that's why some try to go to other places
to sell bulk for $5+ per Lbs.

You should also factor in the extra time it will take to pull the pieces and
process the orders. If you list as a set, once you've verified that the pieces
are there you are basically done.

Depends on the set too. OP, this is why you need to use the price guide to see
what's worth it. and Almost price identically for
parting out and selling as a whole set. So if you can make the same amount of
money either way, it's better to sell them as a set if for anything than
the value of your time. Not all sets go that way though, those two are retired.
What about something that's still in production like:
As a (presumably complete) used set _sells_ for $293 on average but parting it
out as used is averaging $504 over the past six months... But that does not
mean you're going to sell all 3000+ parts over the next couple of months.
It could take years to completely sell all of the items.
Do a little research and then contemplate how long you're willing to store
a set or hundreds of thousands of parts. You can do both.

| Put your collection in the BrickStore program, it runs on PC. You can see how
much the sets are worth at BL. If it is not above the retail price during production,
go to the Price Guide page to see it's part out value. https://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp
You can also Part out a set in BrickStore to see what is valuable in a set.
You can get BrickStore here: https://github.com/rgriebl/brickstore
