| Shoot, so if the part I want just throws up an error on pick a brick it's
no longer being sold and I've got to scrounge up the parts on Bricklink,
yea?

Well, yes, you would have to scrounge up the parts somewhere else besides PaB.
BrickLink is one of those choices. PaB is always going to be modern, in-production
parts.
|
That's crazy. Considering how popular trains are in people's cities,
this part had such a short production run:
|
There are plenty of parts that only last 2-3 years before they are no longer
made ever again. Heck, some parts are only made for one set and never used again.
Marketing 101: Keep your inventory fresh so that it constantly generates interest.
So, not only new sets all the time, but also new parts and new colors.

Type 2 hasn’t been seen in a set since 2016.
And it’s only in one set from 2016 where Type 3 is an alternate.
So I would rule out finding Type 2 on PaB. That’ll be Type 3.
|
Should they be variants?
|
They already are (with Type 1):

Awe man, sorry. Been running a high fever all day.

| Pick-a-Brick only has two train Buffer Beams; No.1 and No.2. (I don't think
we're allowed to post links to that site so just go there and type in "Train
buffer beam" They have 6172142/29082, but BL only shows a result when you
search 6172142 and sends you to this . It appears that is correct
since it has the Pilot at the bottom.
PaB then has a Train Buffer Beam No.2 with the ID(s) 6172149/29084 which both
send you to which lists it as "type 3"
But when you do a search for Train Buffer Beam - Type 2 on Bricklink you finally
find: Which isn't on PaB.
Since there isn't a 3D option for the part on PaB, you can't see the
bottom to know if it's the open or closed version.
So; A: does anyone know if the PaB one is the "closed bottom" and B:
Do the "type 2" and "type 3" on BL need to be swapped to align
with what's on (or not on) PaB?
Sincerely-
Confused in Cincinnati

| Hey guys, I came across these two pieces when cataloging some old Bricks and
I can't seem to find them on BrickLink. I think they are rail/track. Does
anyone know what pieces these are? Thank you!

Hi
Looks like part of the old rail-cross
|
Yes, simpler than gluing straight rails
