Um... I'm a 50-year-old AFOL. What more can I say.
I've been working with Lego for a while in the realm of creating art. Using Lego in unexpected ways. I like making curves and such with straight edge bricks. I first dreamt up the idea in 1990 in my college dorm room but lacked the number of bricks to really test the idea. At that point I wrote (pre-internet) to LEGO, explaining that I was a college student studying art and was interested in utilizing LEGO bricks in my art. I asked them if there was a way to acquire a quantity of 2000 2x4 standard bricks. They politely replied that they did not do special orders like that. So, until I discovered Bricklink more than a decade later, my ideas were just ideas.
