I received my BA in Classical Studies at the University of Waterloo in 2012. My main academic interests are Roman military and economic history, but I also enjoy European history during the Middle Ages and the Crusades.
I am a big time Lego fan for over 22 years now, having received my very first Lego set when I was three years old. As a kid, I grew up in Germany where my love for Lego quickly replaced all interest in any other toy. My favourite theme is Castle, particularly the Black Knights sets of the 90's. The most noteworthy set I own is the 1992 Black Knights Castle (6086). I also like the 1992-93 Pirates/Imperial Guards sets and I have recently developed a liking for the Castle Kingdoms theme.
I have been using Bricklink since 2008 as the main source for acquiring parts for my Castle themed creations. My current goals are to increase my supply of gray bricks for my castle builds.
In 2013, I decided to start my own Bricklink store to support my hobby. My mission is to continue developing my store and growing my inventory, although the focus will be mostly on small parts in order to provide low shipping rates and minimize storage space.
By shopping at my store, you only pay fees that are applied to me personally.
These are examples of some of my recent builds. Most are castle themed, although I have built a few 18th-19th century ships and fortresses as well. The ballista and catapult are fully functional, capable of launching a marble or a lego brick, in the case of the ballista, approximately six feet. Due to their convenient thickness, I decided to use shoe strings for the torsion mechanism.
